Strilčići represents rural cultural heritage and historic village life. The Primorje-Gorski Kotar County planning publication lists the village as a protected rural historic ensemble under heritage designation Z-7288. The remains of the Church of St. Nicholas near Strilčići are listed as immovable cultural property under designation Z-6791.

Historic Ensemble and Village Group

Strilčići belongs to the Gorinja sela, one of three historic village groups in Dubašnica. This classification places the village’s history in a broader context: alongside the protected ensemble, the church remains provide a tangible historic landmark near Strilčići. These two aspects offer different ways to explore the heritage—through the character of the rural settlement and through the history of a single religious building.

This distinction is useful when planning a trip if you are interested in historic settlement patterns. Strilčići can be viewed as part of Dubašnica’s village history without reducing it to a single attraction. The names and designations identify the cultural heritage, while the classification as Gorinja sela explains the historic grouping of the villages.

Cultural History in the Wider Municipality of Malinska-Dubašnica

In the wider destination of the Municipality of Malinska-Dubašnica, the Old Cemetery of St. Apollinar marks the site of Dubašnica’s original parish church. Its bell tower was built in 1618 and remains a symbol of Dubašnica. The site and the tower provide two distinct points of reference for parish history: the former church site and a structure regarded as a regional emblem.

In Porat, the courtyard of the Franciscan Third Order monastery houses a lapidarium of Croatian Glagolitic stone monuments. These include the Baška, Senj and Valun tablets, as well as the Grdoselo fragment and the Krk inscription. The present layout of the monastery’s outdoor area, with its cloister and central well, dates from the 17th century.

The late antique religious complex of Cickini is also part of the cultural heritage of the Municipality of Malinska-Dubašnica; it was built in the 5th or 6th century. The Cickini permanent archaeological collection in Sv. Vid-Miholjice displays fragments of stone liturgical furnishings and decorated architectural sculptures. This offers a different cultural focus from the village history of Strilčići: the collection brings together archaeological finds and religious architecture.

The Chapel of St. Andrew is the oldest surviving chapel in Dubašnica. Originally Romanesque, it dates from the 13th or 14th century. In Malinska, the DUBoak maritime heritage centre is located on the waterfront, at a historic site from which ships laden with timber set out for Venice and nearby Rijeka.

The House of Dubašnica Heritage is an old rural home built for two families around the middle of the 19th century. Its workshops include traditional gastronomy, forgotten crafts, traditional music and the Glagolitic alphabet. Check which activities are available before your trip. A long-standing tradition in Dubašnica is Sensa, which includes a shepherds’ race for cheese, popularly known as “Teć za sir”.
