Hiking to the ruins of Mrsinj Grad

Three cycling routes with different courses
Popolju passes through the KoreniÄko polje, follows the Matica stream to its sinkhole, and returns via Gradina KoreniÄka. Oko Mrsinja is an MTB route that circles Mrsinj and passes through the Krbavica valley. It also passes Vrelo Matice and the fields and pastures around Mrsinj. The Obroncima PljeÅ¡ivice route follows the slopes of LiÄka PljeÅ¡evica; it offers views of Korenica, Bjelopolje, and the PljeÅ¡avica peak.
You can distinguish the routes by their landscapes: Popolju follows the Matica through the KoreniÄko polje, Oko Mrsinja passes Mrsinj and the surrounding fields and pastures, and Obroncima PljeÅ¡ivice runs along mountain slopes with views of villages and peaks. Local history and cultural heritage
Korenica developed at the foot of the medieval town of Mrsinj, which was the seat of the Diocese of Krbava. The Church of Saints Michael and Gabriel in Korenica is recognized in Croatia as a preventive-protection cultural asset and is considered immovable cultural property. The national register entry for its protection status is dated 26 August 2015.
Astronomy and event dates
Astronomsko društvo Korenica was founded on Valentine's Day in 2003 to popularize astronomy. The association works with children and adults. Visitors can meet its members and experience astronomical attractions; as visitor arrangements can change, confirm the details in advance.
