Lans: Moorsee, MoSe Loop and Golf Course
Accommodation in Lans
As a small village at the foot of Patscherkofel, Lans is a destination with several distinct points of interest to consider when planning a trip. If you are looking for hotels in Lans, you can get to know the village through its natural and recreational attractions: the alpine moor lake, the MoSe Loop and the golf course. Also worth mentioning are Lanser Alm, a long-standing local landmark for village residents, and the Kneipp facility on Kochholzweg. Together, they bring landscape, activities and a historic connection to the village into focus.
Lanser See: body of water and moor lake
Lanser See is an alpine moor lake with a total area of about 70,000 square metres, approximately 35,000 square metres of which is water. The water surface therefore accounts for about half of the total area. The lake is fed by groundwater and the nearby Seerosenweiher, a nature reserve also known as Lanser Moor. Facilities at the lake include a playground with a shallow children's pool in the lake, a diving tower and the “Magic Island” in the middle of the lake. As visitor facilities may change, check the latest information before your visit.
The MoSe Loop: route and how to get there
The MoSe Loop is an easy, 4.9-kilometre trail in Lans. It starts and ends in Lans, Am Lansersee. Along the way, it passes Lanser See, the Lanser Moor nature reserve and the Lans golf course, before reaching the Vogelhütte. Lanser See is therefore both a natural attraction in its own right and the shared starting and ending point of the loop. The easy difficulty rating, length and start and end points are useful details for planning your trip. You can reach the MoSe Loop by taking bus J to the “Romedihof” stop or tram line 6 to the “Lanser See” stop. As public transport information may change, check the connection before travelling.
Golf course and landscape
Lans Golf Course is a 9-hole course on a sunny terrace near Innsbruck. It is set in a park-like landscape among coniferous, deciduous and fruit trees, surrounded by impressive natural scenery and offering a unique panorama. Thus, in addition to the number of holes, the landscape is another defining consideration when planning your trip. The MoSe Loop and the golf course can be compared based on different features: for the trail, its length and easy difficulty rating matter; for the golf course, its number of holes and scenic setting. This lets you weigh up a clearly defined walking route against the 9-hole course as different options.
Lanser Alm and Kneipp facility
Since the 19th century, Lanser Alm has been a fixture for the residents of Lans. It adds a historic point of interest to the natural and recreational attractions. The Lans Kneipp facility is at the southern end of Kochholzweg, in a narrow stretch of woodland. The two are relevant to trip planning in different ways: the alpine hut has a long-standing local connection, while the Kneipp facility can be located by its position on Kochholzweg.
