Wilson Creek lies in the northwestern part of Caldwell County, in Pisgah National Forest, and is designated a “Wild and Scenic River.” The river received this designation on August 18, 2000. A 15.4-mile stretch of the lower Wilson Creek is used for fishing, swimming, hiking and kayaking. Brown Mountain Beach Road runs parallel to the river’s lower stretches. It takes place over Labor Day weekend at Jones Family Farm; dates and programming may vary from year to year.

A restoration returned it to its 1792 appearance. Visitor offerings include guided and self-guided tours, special events and educational field trips. They explore the historic house and grounds, as well as life in the Yadkin Valley in the 18th and 19th centuries. Dates and availability of offerings may change.
