Discover Baldwin Park: Trails, parks, and culture
Accommodation in Baldwin Park
Baldwin Park offers several distinct options for a stay: the Baldwin Park Greenway, parks with a variety of trails and amenities, and places for culture and sports. If you’re looking for a hotel, first consider which of these activities will shape your stay. Depending on your interests, you might focus on walking and cycling, a visit to a park, skating, or cultural offerings.
Trails and Parks
The Baldwin Park Greenway is a 2.3-mile protected bike and pedestrian path on the east side of the San Gabriel River. It is ADA-accessible and completely separated from motor vehicle traffic. There are rest areas and restrooms along the trail. Its length gives your plans a concrete scope; the rest areas and restrooms are practical points of reference along the way.
Walnut Creek Nature Park has parking and a paved trail. The park also has a reservable picnic shelter. Check its reservation status for your preferred date. This lets you plan both a trail in the park and a reservable picnic spot.
Barnes Park offers another combination: expanded walking trails, Baldwin Park’s first dog park, and an inclusive, ADA-accessible playground. These amenities offer different options: you can include walks in the park, the dog park, or the playground in your plans.
Skate Park and Train Service
The Baldwin Park Skate Park covers more than 12,000 square feet and features a street-inspired area with banks, stairs, and ledges. Its size and specific features give you a clear idea of what it offers if you prefer skating to walking trails or park visits.
Baldwin Park station is served by Metrolink’s San Bernardino Line. If you’re planning to travel by train, this line is a specific starting point for planning your trip; check connections and schedules for your travel dates.
Culture, History, and Recreation
The Baldwin Park Historical Museum presents a restored space designed around the stories, people, and events that shaped the city. Its historical story reaches back to 1860, when Baldwin Park was part of the San Gabriel Mission’s grazing land. In the late 19th century, Baldwin Park continued to develop from a small agricultural community. This brings together an early connection to the mission and the community’s later development.
The Arts and Recreation Center offers year-round cultural arts programs and activities for children and adults. Unlike the museum’s historical focus, the center’s offerings cater to different age groups. The Baldwin Park Aquatic Center also offers a variety of swimming and water sports programs year-round. Since the availability of specific programs may change, check what’s currently offered before your visit.
During the 2026 summer season, Street Market in the Park was a free event series featuring food, local vendors, arts and crafts, and a beer garden. It also included live entertainment and concerts featuring a range of musical genres and tribute bands, as well as family-friendly activities. Events took place on Thursday evenings through August 6. If you’re planning for a later season, check its new dates.
