There are several ways to shape your stay in Dietikon: art and nature at Bruno Weber Park, local history at the local history museum and St. Agatha’s Church, and leisure activities such as playing or mini golf. There are also guided city tours and routes with different destinations. You can tailor your visit to whether you prefer an artistic ensemble, historical exhibitions, leisure activities or exercise.

Art at Bruno Weber Park

Bruno Weber Park is an immersive work of art: sculptures, architecture and nature form an integrated ensemble. The grounds cover around 15,000 m² and operate as a sculpture park. At the same time, the park preserves Bruno Weber’s artistic legacy and is open to the public. If you are looking for a cultural destination where art and a carefully designed setting take centre stage, the park is a clear highlight of Dietikon.

History at the local history museum and St. Agatha’s Church

The Dietikon Local History Museum presents the city’s history and its links with the monasteries of Zwiefalten and Wettingen in a permanent exhibition. The objects on display include finds from the ruins of Glanzenberg and Schönenwerd castles. The museum also presents the Roman era in Dietikon, including one of the largest Roman villa estates in northwestern Switzerland. If you would like to explore historical subjects through specific finds and exhibition displays, this permanent exhibition offers a clear point of reference.

St. Agatha’s is one of the two Roman Catholic parish churches in Dietikon, in the canton of Zurich. The church is in the city centre, close to Dietikon railway station. The area of present-day Dietikon was home to an early Christian place of worship from the 8th century; a parish church in the village centre is documented from 1089. The two options offer different perspectives: the permanent exhibition brings together exhibits and historical connections, while St. Agatha’s represents the history of the church at a specific location.

Leisure and mini golf

At the ChrĂĽzacher leisure park, an adventurous play area invites visitors to run around, climb and explore. Visitors can also see ponies, donkeys, goats, rabbits, chickens and colourful birds there. The MĂĽhlematt mini golf course offers something different: it is a listed site at Hasenbergstrasse 19 in Dietikon. As a sports facility, meeting place and open space, it invites people of all ages to enjoy some active recreation; an introduction to the special features of mini golf is also part of the offering. The two leisure destinations have different focuses: ChrĂĽzacher combines play and encounters with animals, while MĂĽhlematt combines mini golf with sport and socialising.

City tours and walking routes

On guided city tours, guides comment on features from both the past and present as they lead visitors on a walk. Tours can be tailored to participants’ wishes on request. A tour can run from Dietikon railway station to Weinrebenpark along the Bruno Weber Trail; admission to the park and a guided tour of the park are not included. For hikers, the final section of a hike to Dietikon follows the scenic Brüggliweg along the Reppisch’s impressive steep banks. These offer a choice between a guided look at the city’s features from past and present and a route along the riverbank.
