Mölle combines hiking trails at Kullaberg with swimming spots, water activities and a local history that continues to shape its distinctive character. For planning your trip, the trails described here offer different distances; there is also Mölle Chapel, Ransvik and activities related to nature and water.

Hiking from Mölle

A hike from Mölle to Kullen Lighthouse is about 4 km long. If you’re planning a longer route, you can continue via Arild and return to Mölle using a shortcut: this extension brings the total distance to 16 km. The Skåneleden trail also runs from Mölle in the direction of Kullen Lighthouse.

Kyrkstigen starts behind Mölle Chapel and follows existing forest trails along the mountain. The trail is marked in both directions and can be walked in full or in shorter sections. It is about 8 km long; 6 km of that is the section between Mölle Chapel and the chapel in Arild. Routes and conditions may change, so it is advisable to check the latest information before setting out.

The routes differ in length: about 4 km to the lighthouse, around 8 km on Kyrkstigen, or 16 km in total for the extension via Arild with a return via a shortcut. This lets you plan your hike around your preferred distance without treating the different routes as interchangeable.

The chapel and the history of the seaside resort

Mölle Chapel was completed in 1935 and built from Höganäs bricks. It has remained unchanged since it was built. Kyrkstigen also begins behind the chapel; here, architecture and the trail meet without losing their individual character.

Mölle’s distinctive character was strongly shaped by the early seaside resort architecture of hotels, restaurants and summer houses. Around the turn of the 20th century, the town was a day-trip destination and seaside resort with almost 3,000 bathers a year. Its transport history is also part of the story: the Höganäs–Mölle railway line opened in 1910. These historical connections give the town a different focus from today’s hiking and water activities.

Nature, swimming and water activities

At Naturum Kullaberg, visitors can find information, inspiration and tips for discovering nature. Naturum is also the starting point for guided tours through the park, on land or from the sea. Mölle fälad is a recreational area and nature reserve.

Near Mölle, just north of the town, Ransvik is a rocky bathing spot in Kullaberg Nature Reserve. Mölle itself has a bathing jetty, a rocky beach, a shingle beach and an outdoor swimming pool. As facilities can change, it’s worth checking the latest information before your visit.

You can also experience the mountain from the water: stand-up paddleboarding starts in Mölle harbour. Kayaks can be rented in Mölle or Arild; in Mölle, the storage area is behind the restaurant buildings. The two activities offer different experiences: stand-up paddleboarding starts in the harbour, while the information about kayaking also specifies the rental location and storage area.

Summer bus service to the lighthouse

In summer, bus 202 runs from Mölle to the car park at the lighthouse on Kullaberg. As the service is seasonal, check the current summer operating period before travelling. This lets you factor the connection into your plans without assuming that the seasonal timetable applies year-round.
