Lerberget brings together its history as a fishing village with coastal and nature-related attractions. The older buildings and remains of former clay pits tell the story of the area’s past. The harbor and forest offer more to explore, from the beach and sailing to nature and outdoor activities.

Fishing Village History and Older Lanes

In the 18th century, Lerberget developed as one of the newer fishing villages in Kullabygden. In the older part of the village, narrow lanes, known as “gudor,” lead to the water and the beach. The local term is part of a specific description of the historic village layout: it refers to the narrow paths that connect the village to the water.

Remains of former clay pits can still be seen south of the former fishing village. They are linked to the area’s former brickmaking and add another aspect to the story of Lerberget’s development. The lanes and clay pits offer different clues: the lanes lead to the water and beach, while the pits are traces of earlier work with clay.

Lerbergsskogen: Forest, Birds and Outdoor Activities

Lerbergsskogen is a municipal forest reserve on the coast between Lerberget and Höganäs. On the west coast of Skåne, it provides a resting place for small birds on migration and during the winter. Nature lovers can also explore the forest from the perspective of bird migration and wintering.

Lerbergsskogen has a lit running track and an outdoor gym. Alongside its importance as a resting place for birds, the forest also offers specific recreational facilities. Visitors arriving by car can park south of Lerbergsskogen on Östra Vägen in Lerberget.

A path near Lerberget passes soft sand dunes and thousands of pasqueflowers. This offers a different natural feature from the bird resting area in the forest reserve: along the path, dunes and flowers take center stage. When considering nature-related attractions for your trip, these landscapes and their respective features are distinct.

Beach, Getting There and Sailing

Lerberget’s harbor has a bathing jetty and a sandy beach. The Lerberget bus stop is about 600 meters from the beach by the harbor. This approximate distance gives you a sense of the location when planning how to get to the beach.

Sailing is another consideration when planning your trip. Lerbergets Segelsällskap offers activities for children, young people and adult sailors at different levels. This adds a specific club offering to the range of beach and harbor activities. The different levels help you find an option to suit you.
