If you’re looking for a hotel in Tyringe, you can use your interests as a starting point: outdoor activities, local history, art or indoor sports. The trail lengths, the town’s historical development and the changing exhibition programme offer concrete guidance for planning. This lets you include different themes in your stay without cramming every activity into a single itinerary.

Outdoor Activities and Landscapes

Sanatorieskogen has three trails for walking or running, which have been open since 1987. They are 5, 7 and 10 kilometres long, so you can choose according to the distance you want to cover. Trail conditions can change, so check them before setting out.

Tyrs Hov Arena is in a natural setting with several trails that pass through the beech forest of Sanatorieskogen and through Bödkaredalen. Radiumkällan, in the southeastern part of Tyringe, is in a deciduous forest area characterised mainly by mature beech and oak trees. The name Radiumkällan recalls the former belief that radium was beneficial to health.

Close to Tyringe, Stenberget offers beech forest, significant changes in elevation and views over Lake Finjasjön. Here, forest, terrain and lake views come together. Just outside Tyringe, in Västra Torup, the 1.6-kilometre Torupasjön circular trail runs through the area. It is partially accessible.

Local History and Culture

With the construction of the railway line between Hässleholm and Helsingborg in 1875, Tyringe developed into a railway town. The Tyringe Museum presents the town’s history from the arrival of the railway to the present day. Its history thus offers both a specific turning point and a broader time frame.

Since the Tyringe sanatorium and bathhouse was built in 1896, Sanatorieskogen has been a valued retreat for sanatorium guests and Tyringe residents. Tyringe Church also has a datable connection to local history: it has featured stained-glass windows by artist Hugo Gehlin since 1950.

The Tyringe Library art gallery presents a new exhibition every month in collaboration with Tyringe konstförening. Once a year, an exhibition of works by members of Tyringe Fotoklubb is also added. Artists and dates may change, so check the current programme before your trip.

A report dated 3 March 2026 also describes a meeting with the exhibiting artists on the first Monday of each month. After a presentation of about 20 minutes, visitors could enjoy coffee and cake, view the art and talk with the artists. Check the dates before your trip if you’d like to experience this event.

The Tyringe Museum is available digitally around the clock on a phone, computer or tablet. If you’d like to include this option in your plans, check it before your trip if needed. Perssons Café is also part of the town’s history: writers Artur Lundkvist and Gordon Lindh once sat there.

Indoor Sports

Tyrs Hov Sports Centre offers an ice rink with ample spectator seating, a sports hall, bowling and wrestling, as well as indoor football and athletics. This provides a distinct focus on indoor sports and other activities inside the building, alongside the outdoor trails.
