Ätran: Hiking and water by Lake Eseredssjön

Ätran is a destination in the Falkenberg countryside where nature experiences and activities come together. Around Lake Eseredssjön, trails, swimming and fishing are among the highlights; there are also longer routes and seasonal events. The various trail lengths and time frames help you assess the scope of the activities you have planned.

Trails and longer routes

The circular trail around Lake Eseredssjön is 3.3 kilometres long. Distinct from this are the green and yellow hiking loops by Lake Eseredssjön: both start at Ätrans Skidcenter, and parts of both loops follow the Hallandsleden. This means there is a circular trail with a stated distance alongside two colour-coded loops that share a starting point.

The Hallandsleden section from Ätran to Långesjön passes Lake Eseredssjön and runs alongside the campsite. The Ätranbaneleden runs through Ullared, Ätran and Fegen and is 24 kilometres long. Near the facilities and Lake Eseredssjön, there are training routes of varying lengths for running, hiking and mountain biking. You can mountain bike around the lake near the Ätrans Turist & Fritid facility.

The paddling route from Ätran to Falkenberg is offered as a three-day trip covering 43 kilometres and includes five portages. The stated duration and portages give you concrete points to consider when planning this route.

By Lake Eseredssjön: swimming and fishing

Sjövikens Badanläggning is located in the centre of Ätran, right next to Lake Eseredssjön. The facility has three heated outdoor pools: a 25-metre swimming pool with a 3-metre diving board, a 25-metre children's pool and a paddling pool. Sjöbastun by Lake Eseredssjön has its own bathing jetty.

You can fish in Lake Eseredssjön from a rowing boat or from one of several jetties. In addition to stocked rainbow trout, you can catch pike, bream, roach and perch there. This provides information on both the different fishing spots and the fish species to help you plan a day of fishing.

Art and seasonal events

Morfars glänta is in Ätran, between the bathing area and the shelter by Lake Eseredssjön. This art experience on the Hallandsleden by the lake brings art and nature together.

Ätrans Turist & Fritid organises an annual summer swimming school for children aged six and over. Check the dates before your trip if you would like to include this activity in your plans.

Sjövikens Festplats is used during the season for music events and evenings of Gammaldans. If you would like to attend one of these evenings during your trip, check the seasonal programme and dates in advance.

More activities

Ätrans Skidcenter offers cross-country ski trails of 3, 5, 7 and 10 kilometres. The trail lengths range from 3 to 10 kilometres, making them easy to compare.
