Find hotels in Deltebre and discover the Delta
Accommodation in Deltebre
If you’re looking for a hotel in Deltebre, walking routes, the Delta landscape, and local culture can each offer a different focus for your trip. The routes vary in length, estimated duration, and format; there is also a natural beach, a lagoon, and themes related to rice and Delta traditions. When planning your trip, you can first decide which of these aspects matter most to you.
Walking by duration and route format
Walking Route 5, “Desembocadura-Garxal-Riumar,” is an easy 6.9 km circular route with an estimated duration of 1 hour and 45 minutes. The route offers insights into the Ebro’s final stretch and mouth, the Garxal lagoon, and the district of Riumar. Both its distance and estimated duration are shorter than those of the two out-and-back routes; its circular format also differs from theirs.
“Punta del Fangar” is an easy 8.4 km out-and-back route, with an estimated duration of 2 hours and 15 minutes. “Passeig fluvial del Deltebre” is also an easy out-and-back route, covering 12.6 km with an estimated duration of 3 hours. The routes are staggered by distance and time: Punta del Fangar falls between the circular route and the longer Passeig fluvial. This makes it possible to choose based on your planned timeframe and preferred route format. Conditions may change seasonally; check route conditions before setting out.
Beach and lagoon landscape
Playa del Garxal is a natural beach in the Garxal area, south of Riumar Beach. Bassa del Canal Vell is the largest lagoon in the left half of the Delta. The beach and lagoon represent different landscape types that you can consider as separate nature-focused themes when planning your trip.
Rice, architecture, and Delta culture
At the Ecomuseu, the information center for Delta de l’Ebre Natural Park, visitors can learn more about the Delta’s formation and history. Other topics include architecture, festivals, and traditions. The center thus offers access to several facets of the Delta, from its formation to cultural themes.
EbreTerra is a tourism, gastronomy, and education center in the municipality of Deltebre. It includes an interactive museum area and spaces for cooking classes. While the Ecomuseu focuses on the natural park and the history of the Delta, EbreTerra brings together tourism, gastronomy, and education. The two centers therefore offer different perspectives if you’d like to include culture and regional themes in your travel plans.
Casa dels Belgues, also known as Casa Quico, is a Colonial-style house. This adds architecture as another distinct perspective alongside the natural park and rice production. At Molà de Rafelet, traditional rice production has four phases: sowing, growth, harvesting, and letting the soil rest. Including the soil’s resting phase broadens the picture beyond the harvest to encompass the entire production cycle.
Seasonal events and river cruises
Festes de l’Arròs is one of the established events in Deltebre’s summer program. Dates are seasonal; if you’re planning your trip around the festival, check the dates in the program for that year.
Several companies run river cruises that follow the Ebro to its mouth. Operators and timetables may change. Check the latest information if you’re planning to take a cruise.
