For a stay in Cala Mesquida, the beach, dunes and routes offer different points of interest. The beach is 300 metres long; several named paths lead from Cala Mesquida either towards Cala Agulla or to Sa Mesquida de Dalt. One of the routes also offers a connection to the route to Capdepera. You can therefore plan your trip according to whether you would rather spend time at the beach or focus on specific destinations and landscape features along the routes.

Beach and dunes

Cala Mesquida beach has fine, white sand and is suitable for walking and swimming. Its 300-metre length gives a clear idea of the extent of this stretch of coastline. Walking and swimming offer two different ways to enjoy the beach; sea conditions vary. So if you plan to swim, take the current conditions at sea into account.

Behind the beach is a wide band of dunes, mostly covered with autumn shrubs and pine trees. This adds another landscape feature to the sandy area. If you are choosing Cala Mesquida for more than just beach activities and are also interested in the coastal landscape, you can consider the sandy beach and the vegetated dunes as distinct parts of the destination.

Routes and destinations

The Camí des Coll de Marina connects Cala Agulla and Cala Mesquida beaches. It goes over the Coll de Marina and then across a boardwalk through the Cala Mesquida dune system. The Ruta del Mar also connects these two beaches and runs through dunes and the Coll de Marina pine forest. Both paths therefore connect Cala Agulla and Cala Mesquida; their stated features offer different highlights: the Camí features the pass and the boardwalk, while the Ruta del Mar features dunes and pine forest.

Another route leads from Cala Mesquida beach to Sa Mesquida de Dalt and offers the option of joining the route to Capdepera. Its destination therefore differs from the connection to Cala Agulla; the option to join another route can also be factored into your route planning.
