Entre Ríos is Argentina’s National Capital of Hot Springs. At the same time, protected areas, historic cultural sites and water activities shape the range of possible travel interests. When choosing a hotel, it helps to first consider whether hot springs, nature, architecture, regional cuisine or outdoor activities are your priority. This way, you can plan your stay around your preferred focus without implying that every destination offers the same kind of experience.

Hot Springs as the Focus of Your Trip

Entre Ríos has 16 hot springs complexes with more than 125 pools. The figures and facilities may change, so check the latest information about the complexes before your trip. If hot springs are a deciding factor in your plans, their scale offers a useful starting point for your search. The province can also be explored through other interests: national parks, cultural sites and boat trips each offer their own highlights.

Protected Areas and Nature Experiences

El Palmar National Park preserves more than 8,200 hectares of the Espinal and Pampas ecoregions, including wetlands of international importance. Pre-Delta National Park protects more than 2,600 hectares of the Paraná Delta and Islands ecoregion, also including wetlands of international importance. The two protected areas therefore represent different ecological settings: Espinal and Pampas in El Palmar, and the Paraná Delta and islands in Pre-Delta.

Another way to enjoy nature awaits at the botanical garden, where visitors can stroll among native trees, shrubs and plants. Gazzano Park is a recreational area in a landscape with a lake. Nature experiences thus range from large protected areas and their ecoregions to a stroll among native plants and a lakeside recreational area.

Architecture, Museums and Culture

Palacio San José is an important example of mid-19th-century Italianate architecture in Argentina. Today, the building houses the “Justo José de Urquiza” National Museum. Its architecture and use as a museum give the site a historical and cultural focus.

At the Molino Forclaz Provincial Museum, visitors can tour the interior of the windmill and the old residence. The sheds contain agricultural tools and a horse-powered capstan. The Gualeguaychú Carnival offers a different kind of experience: an open-air theatrical spectacle with floats, music, rhythm and the colors of the comparsas. Together, these examples show different sides of the cultural offering, from architectural history and museum spaces to a large-scale outdoor spectacle.

Boat Trips and Activities

Villa Paranacito offers trips by boat, yacht and catamaran along rivers, streams and other waterways. Villa Paranacito can be reached from Buenos Aires via National Routes 9 and 12; the distance is 175 kilometers. For a trip focused on waterways and boat rides, these location and route details offer practical guidance.

San José Aerial Park has a zip line more than 300 meters long. Other attractions include games, a children’s windmill, a plant nursery and an ecological area for family recreation. Comfortable clothing suitable for physical activities is recommended for your visit. This focus on activities is quite different from a boat trip along rivers and streams: here, the emphasis is on exercise and the park’s listed facilities.

Cuisine of Entre Ríos

Regional cuisine can also play a part in planning your trip. It includes asado criollo and asado con cuero, cheeses, escabeches and desserts, as well as tortas fritas, alfajores and fresh fish. The selection combines a variety of savory dishes and sweets, adding a culinary perspective on Entre Ríos to its nature and cultural themes.
