Culture and Nature in Concordia
The Museo de AntropologĂa y Ciencias Naturales pursues educational and cultural goals. Its mission includes preserving, conserving, and promoting the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of Concordia and the region. The Museo HistĂłrico Militar Coronel Leopoldo Ornstein has a narrower historical focus: it is dedicated to the history of the Cuerpo de Blandengues de la Frontera de Buenos Aires and displays objects and materials from this military unit. The museums therefore differ both in their subject matter and in the type of cultural heritage they address.
At Parque San Carlos, trails run through gallery forest, where you can observe birds. Alongside the museums, nature trails and birdwatching are another distinct option in Concordia. When planning your trip, you can consider these attractions as different itinerary choices, depending on whether you prefer culture or time outdoors.
Puerto Yeruá: History and Events
Puerto Yeruá is also located in Departamento Concordia. The Parroquia San Isidro Labrador has a distinctive stone façade. During a municipal outing for International Tourism Day in 2023, visitors went to the church and the Museo Costumbrista. The Reserva natural Refugio Villa Carmen is also in Puerto Yeruá and was visited as part of a tourist outing. If you plan to visit these sites, check access arrangements in advance.
The founding of Colonia Yeruá and its port in 1888 provides a specific historical reference point for the town. Occasional events offer further insight into the local program. The opening of the 2025 summer season, held in December 2024, featured sports demonstrations, dance performances, and music shows. At the 2022 Puerto Yeruá mountain bike rally, more than 160 participants from different parts of the country rode an 11-kilometer course with five timed laps and three promotional laps. A planned edition of the Aguas Abiertas Concordia–Puerto Yeruá open-water swimming event was to cover 21 and 11 kilometers; the event was described as the revival of a tradition.

Termas del Ayuà is located on Lago de Salto Grande, on the outskirts of the city and near the border with Uruguay. The facilities include seven indoor pools at different temperatures, ranging from 37 °C to 43 °C, with various depths for adults and children. The complex also includes a water park surrounded by a natural forest of pine and eucalyptus trees. The pool temperatures, depths, and forest give this thermal bath destination its distinctive character.
Termas de Punta Viracho is also located on the shores of Lago de Salto Grande. Sailboats and motorboats pass just a few meters from the pools. The thermal baths have two pools a few meters from a pebble beach; various water sports are practiced in the surrounding area year-round. A designated camping area has space for tents and motorhomes. Before making plans, check current operating conditions and the availability of the camping area.
Thermal baths also have a special status at the provincial level in Entre RĂos: the province is Argentina’s National Capital of Thermal Circuits. This broader context complements the specific differences between the thermal baths near Concordia.
