Szlak Niepodległości: route and historical connection

The Szlak Niepodległości is 32 km long and runs through Walerianowo. Its historical connection is with the local routes along which Poland achieved its independence: the trail passes through places linked to these routes. The starting point is at the sports stadium in Komorniki, on ul. Jeziorna. Visitors can park their car there and then continue by bicycle. The start in Komorniki and the route through Walerianowo are different points of reference along the same trail. Check parking availability locally before planning your trip.

History and culture in Walerianowo

A meeting about local history was the second in the “Historia Rosnówka i Walerianowa” series. It took place on November 14, 2025, and focused on the former Olęder residents of the Rosnówko and Walerianowo areas and the traces they left behind. This puts former residents and their legacy in the spotlight, while the Szlak Niepodległości offers a different historical connection: local routes linked to Polish independence.

The two-day cultural and artistic event “Kulturalne lato w Walerianowie” was planned for June or July 2019; the proposed program included, among other things, an open-air cinema. An open-air theater performance for children was also planned for 2019 as part of a cultural and artistic gathering lasting several hours in Walerianowo.

Past activities in the Sołectwo

In the immediate vicinity of the destination, six kayak trips took place on August 1, 9 and 30, 2020, as part of the “Wakacyjne spływy kajakowe” project for the Walerianowo–Rosnówko Sołectwo. The “Komornickie miodobranie 2025” festival took place on May 25, 2025, at DK Klub in Rosnówko and belonged to the same Sołectwo. The Rowerowy Rajd Niepodległości followed a 32 km-long red route of the Szlak Niepodległości through Walerianowo.

The shared scope is important for the kayak trips: the project was for the Walerianowo–Rosnówko Sołectwo and lists three dates in August 2020. For the honey festival, Rosnówko was the venue; its connection to Walerianowo is that it belongs to the shared Sołectwo.
