The aspects you want to shape your trip can help you choose a destination and plan your days.

Nature, relaxation and trails

Glinianki consists of flooded former clay pits and is now a green recreational area. Swimming and relaxation are among the seasonal activities available there. A signposted footpath leads from the car park to an observation tower. Information boards along the trail cover glacial landforms, as well as local fauna and flora. Glinianki thus brings together recreation and insights into the landscape.

Protected landscapes also shape the surrounding area. Both Wielkopolski National Park and Rogaliński Landscape Park reach the outskirts of Mosina. In the area closer to Mosina, the national park includes 18 strictly protected areas. Mosina’s natural surroundings include both the protected areas on the outskirts of town and the 18 strictly protected areas of the national park nearby.

Cycle to Mosina

The Łącznikowy Szlak Rowerowy runs from Poznań via Luboń and Puszczykowo to Mosina’s Market Square. It also connects the town with a section of the Pierścień Rowerowy Dookoła Poznania. This gives you a specific destination to plan for: the Market Square. The route offers a different focus from a day at Glinianki or exploring Mosina’s historic sites.

Town history and architecture

Mosina has a preserved medieval street layout. At its centre is a square Market Square, with narrow streets branching off from it. St. Nicholas Church adds its own architectural history to this historic townscape: it was built from 1952 to 1954 on the foundations of an earlier stone church dating from 1905. Its modern interior features polychrome work by Ewa Buczyńska and Walenty Gabrysiak, as well as stained-glass windows by Edmund Hałas.

Another historic building is the Galeria Sztuki, a former Jewish synagogue built around 1876. The gallery exhibits painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, textiles, installations, new media and animated films. The Galeria Historyczna, also known as Galeria na Piętrze, is housed in the same building. It holds temporary historical exhibitions about Ziemia Mosińska, as well as photography and art exhibitions. The two galleries therefore offer different perspectives: a broad range of artistic media and changing exhibitions with a historical focus.

Other distinctive sights include Obrabad, a brick building with a tall tower visible from the Mosiński Canal. The mural “Tam, gdzie ptaki śpiewają…” was unveiled on 24 May on the wall of the town hall. A local legend traces the origins of the “Elegant z Mosiny” to local tailoring workshops. There is also a tourist puzzle trail, the “Mosina w XIX wieku” Quest, created by pupils of Primary School No. 2 in Mosina.

Planning information

The tourist information point, open year-round, is located at Gminne Centrum Informacji, ul. Dworcowa 3, on the first floor. It is open Mondays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Tuesdays to Fridays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. There you can get information about regional attractions, as well as brochures, leaflets and maps. If you are planning a visit, check the opening hours in advance.

When deciding whether to visit Mosina, you can weigh up your travel interests: the cycling route and Market Square, nature and seasonal recreation at Glinianki, or the town’s history and art.
