Przesieki between river landscape and history
Accommodation in Przesieki
Przesieki brings together a waterscape, a valuable bog and traces of history. When planning your trip, it is worth distinguishing between features within the village and destinations in the surrounding area. This will help you consider the area in terms of nature and history and consciously choose the focus of your trip.
Rivers, lake and getting your bearings
Przesieki lies on the Przysieka and near the Drawa; the Płociczna flows into the Drawa near Przesieki. These three references to water describe different spatial relationships: the location on the Przysieka, the proximity of the Drawa and the Płociczna’s confluence near Przesieki. These distinctions are useful for getting your bearings.
A description published in 2021 mentions a parking area for several dozen cars, a kayak rental, a bridge and access to the Drawa about 2 km beyond Przesieki. As this information dates from 2021, check that the facilities are still available before your trip.
Near Przesieki is an elongated forest lake covering about 15 ha, with a shoreline of 2,500 m. The area and shoreline are different measurements of the lake: one indicates its size, the other the length of its shore. On the side facing the village are a large meadow, a beach volleyball court and a wooden shelter. As the facilities may change, check their current status before visiting.
Nature in the village and the surrounding area
The Torfowisko w Przesiekach peat bog is one of the area’s valuable natural sites. The “Jeleń” pine, by contrast, stands beside the road between Przesieki and Kuźnica Żelichowska, in the surrounding area. The difference between a natural feature in the village and an individual tree beside the road offers two different points of interest for nature enthusiasts. The condition of the pine may change; check before visiting.
Traces of history
The archaeological settlement site “punkt osadniczy, st. 3” is located in Przesieki. The village also lies on the former road from Berlin to Danzig. These two points of reference differ: the settlement site relates to archaeology, while the road points to a former travel route.
In nearby Zacisze, the Krzyż municipality and the Krzyż Forest District established a history and nature trail in 2005. According to a report, information boards were put up in 2004 next to the former Paasche family manor house in Zacisze.
Bunkers, remnants of the Pomeranian Wall fortifications, can be found in the area around Przesieki and Osieczno. How clearly each bunker can be seen varies by location.
If you are looking for a hotel in Przesieki, distinguishing between features in the village and destinations in the surrounding area is a useful first step: would you like to focus on the village itself, or include the nearby area in your trip planning as well? This will help you consciously decide on the geographical scope of your stay.
