Leamington offers several distinct reasons to visit: art and tours at the Leamington Arts Centre, a monthly market, trails through a marsh, and a cycling route that runs through town. There is also the SUNSET® Amphitheatre near the shore of Lake Erie, as well as places to visit in the wider region. If you’re looking for a hotel in Leamington, you can start with the activities you want to shape your stay.

Art, Tours and Market

The Leamington Arts Centre is located in Uptown Leamington and has four exhibition spaces. The centre presents up to 40 different exhibitions each year; the number may vary. Admission is always free, and donations are welcome. Tours are offered for individuals, private groups, community groups, schools and clubs; 48 hours’ advance notice is required. Free admission and tours booked in advance give you two practical ways to fit an art visit into your stay.

The Mill St. Night Market offers a different experience from the Arts Centre: it’s a monthly market in Leamington featuring street food, handmade goods, vintage clothing and antiques. Check the dates for your travel period if you’d like to plan your market visit in advance.

The Hillman Marsh Shorebird Celebration is held annually at the Hillman Marsh Conservation Area in Leamington. The 2026 event ran from May 1 to 18.

Trails and Cycling Route

The Hillman Marsh Conservation Area has five kilometres of trails through the marsh. The trails pass through the marsh landscape, which shapes the character of the visit. A closure notice applies to part of the trails; factor it into your visit planning.

The CWAT Waterfront Trail is a cycling route that runs through Leamington. It stretches east from Cornwall, on the border with Québec, to Lighthouse Cove in the west. The route runs near the shores of Lake Ontario and Lake Erie. This makes the trail different from the network of trails at Hillman Marsh in more than just the mode of travel: it runs between the stated eastern and western endpoints, while the trails pass through the marsh.

On Lake Erie and in the Wider Region

The SUNSET® Amphitheatre is located in Seacliff Park near the shore of Lake Erie. This setting distinguishes it from the trails through Hillman Marsh and the route of the CWAT.

In the wider region around Leamington, visitors can walk the Marsh Boardwalk at Point Pelee National Park. They can also take a one-hour round trip by shuttle to The Tip. The one-hour duration includes the round trip.

Choosing a Hotel Based on Your Interests

Within town, the options have distinct focuses: art and the market, trails through the marsh, or cycling. Point Pelee adds regional places to visit. Decide what you’d like to focus on, then compare the specific hotel details with your needs for your stay.
