Those considering Nanto as a destination will find a range of attractions: villas and history, trails through the countryside, seasonal events and local produce. If you’re looking for a hotel for your stay, your travel dates are especially important if a guided tour or a specific event is part of your plans.

Villas and History

Villa Corà Grassi and its outbuildings are open for public guided tours once a month. Groups must register at least 15 days in advance; registration is by invitation or on request. If you’re planning a group tour, allow for this lead time when planning your trip.

Villa Barbaran, Muraro, Grassi is distinguished by the yellow stone of Nanto, found only in this area of the Berici Hills. This creates a direct link between the building and the local material. The Trene sites also add prehistoric interest to the villas: the Covoli di Trene are associated with finds of cave bear remains. Upper Paleolithic presence is documented in the Grotta di Trene.

Trails and Views

The Sentiero degli Ulivi, trail 84, starts in the center of Nanto and is about five kilometers long. By contrast, the defining feature of the Sentiero dei Monti di Nanto is its viewpoints overlooking Lago di Fimon. The two trails can therefore be distinguished by their different highlights: the starting point and approximate length are specified for the Sentiero degli Ulivi, while the Sentiero dei Monti di Nanto is noted for its lake views.

Nanto also offers the e-bike experience “Il viaggio green immersion nei Berici delle Maraveje.” If you’d like to book this experience, first confirm that it is currently available.

Events and Regional Traditions

The “Nantopietra” event takes place in Nanto in April. Every summer, the “Festa del tartufo e dell’olivo dei Colli Berici” is also held there. An event associated with the Strada dei Vini DOC dei Colli Berici takes place in Ponte di Nanto in May. Check the exact date for the year of your visit before you travel.

Nanto’s longstanding traditions include wine growing and black truffle gathering: the town has a history of wine growing and is traditionally known for its abundant black truffle harvest. Fresh black truffles are sold at the Pro Loco Nanto stalls on the first two weekends of July. Check the exact dates before your trip.

The timing of these events offers different planning options: Nantopietra takes place in April, the event in Ponte di Nanto in May, the festival in summer and the truffle sale on the first two weekends of July. If a particular event is the reason for your hotel stay, check your travel dates against its schedule.
