Lusiana offers insights into traditional work, sacred architecture, art, alpine nature and the culture of remembrance. Each place has a different focus: some highlight tools and crafts, others buildings and views, or local flora and fauna. If you are looking for a hotel in Lusiana, these themes can help you tailor your stay to your interests.

Crafts and everyday history

At Area Labioli e antichi lavori del bosco, you can learn about various traditional activities and forest facilities. You can visit the charcoal burner's dwelling with demonstration charcoal kilns, the forester's hut with its “biode” and “fogolaro,” and a lime kiln. There are also water basins carved into the rock, known as “labioli.”

Traditional straw processing is one of the main subjects at the Museo Palazzon. Part of the exhibition shows how “fastughi” were obtained to make “sporte” and “capei.” The museum is housed in a 17th-century building in the heart of Lusiana. Here, the history of the building meets a specific focus on craftsmanship: you can connect the work process described with the items made from it.

Church, bell tower and views

The Chiesa di San Giacomo is in the centre of Lusiana. Together with the Campanile, it forms the eastern side of Piazza IV Novembre. The bell tower was built in the late 19th century. From its bell chamber, you can see the landscape of the Altopiano di Asiago; on clear days, Monte Cimone and Parco del Sojo are also visible. The view therefore depends on visibility on the day. Architecture and scenery complement each other here: the Campanile's location frames the scene, while the surrounding landscape draws your gaze outward.

Art and alpine nature

The privately owned Parco del Sojo – Arte e Natura in Lusiana covers about eight hectares. Along paths and old mule tracks, it displays more than 80 contemporary sculptures. Together, the artworks, paths and historic track types shape the character of the park. This offers a different focus from a visit centred mainly on a building or craft technique.

The Museo della Fauna Alpina, above the Biblioteca di Lusiana, teaches visitors about mountain animals and the traces they leave in the forests. The Giardino Alpino “Dario Broglio” is located in the Monte Corno area, within a site recognised as a Site of Community Importance (S.I.C.). It contains more than 500 herbaceous plants, shrubs and trees typical of the mountains of the Province of Vicenza, including rare species and species found on the plateau. The museum and alpine garden have different emphases: wildlife and animal traces in one, plant diversity in the other.

Memorial sites and trails

The Cimitero Militare Britannico di Granezza is one of five British cemeteries on the Altopiano di Asiago 7 Comuni. It was established shortly after the end of the conflict, is protected by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and contains a total of 1,024 fallen soldiers. “La Grande Guerra” is the name of another historical subject area, covering the British and French sectors and the defensive line in the Monte Corno area.

If you are interested in a forest route, Monte Corgnon has a fully signposted nature trail. It runs from Val Fontana along the flank and summit of Monte Corgnon, through the forest and on to the Villaggio Preistorico on the hilltop.

Visits by reservation

Guided visits to the Pestarino dei Togna, the Maglio di Valli di Sotto and the Mulino Garzotto are available by reservation. All three are part of the Museo Diffuso di Lusiana. If you would like to include these sites in your plans, remember to reserve a place on a guided visit. The other themes offer a different way to plan your trip, from architecture and views to nature, crafts and historical interpretation.
