Brenzone lies on the eastern shore of Lake Garda; its territory stretches from the lakeside to the peaks of Monte Baldo, which rise to over 2,000 metres. This range is reflected in the activities on offer: a flat cycling and walking path runs along the water, while the Nordic Walking Park also includes high-altitude trails. There are also three ferry piers, the Prada-Costabella cable car and historic places.

Lakeside and high-altitude trails

The Ciclopedonale di Brenzone is a flat path of about 9 kilometres along the lakeside and is suitable for everyone. There are 26 small bridges along the route. Rest areas with benches, shaded spots and direct access to the beaches are also among the path’s stated features. This makes the lakeside route a different way to get moving from the high-altitude trails in the Nordic Walking Park. Conditions and maintenance may change; it is advisable to check the latest conditions before setting out.

The Nordic Walking Park di Brenzone comprises seven official trails: four circular routes by the lake and three high-altitude trails accessible from Prada. This division helps you navigate between routes by the water and trails at higher elevations. Check the signs and maps on site before choosing a route.

Ferry piers and the ride to Costabella

Navigarda operates three ferry piers in the Brenzone area. If you are planning a boat trip, check the timetable before travelling. From Prada, the Prada-Costabella cable car reaches the Costabella area, at an altitude of over 1,800 metres, in two sections. Operating details, opening hours and prices vary by season; confirm these details with the operator before making plans. This lets you consider the lakeside options and the high-altitude area separately, without assuming that the same conditions apply to both.

Villages, archaeological finds and churches

Campo is a medieval village, now uninhabited and accessible only on foot. The Villa Romana near the Chiesa di San Zeno in Castelletto offers a different perspective on history: discovered in 2004, it is considered the only excavated example to date of a lakeside residence on the eastern shore of Lake Garda. The Pietra di Castelletto is also known for its distinctive classification: it is considered the only European example of this engraving technique outside the Valcamonica area.

The medieval Chiesa di San Zeno a Castelletto features Romanesque forms dating from the 11th, 12th and 13th centuries. Access requires collecting a key from the tourist information office against a deposit; check before your visit whether this option is currently available. The church of San Nicola di Mira was built between the 11th and 12th centuries and preserves medieval frescoes. These buildings and archaeological sites offer different historical perspectives, from Romanesque architecture to finds from the Roman era.

Annual festival, olive oil and stand-up paddleboarding

The Festa di Santa Caterina is celebrated every year on 25 November. During the celebration, visitors can watch olives being pressed at an olive mill in Castelletto. This is separate from the olive oil tastings at the Oleificio Piccoli Produttori di Castelletto, which are organised during the tourist season. As booking arrangements may change, check in advance.

Water sports are also among the activities on offer: qualified instructors teach stand-up paddleboarding technique at the Acquafresca Sport Center. Along with the trails by the lake and at higher elevations, this offers a choice of very different activities. Choose the activities that suit your travel plans for your stay in Brenzone, and check the applicable details for seasonal offers.
