Mazzeo: Beach and Seafront Promenade

Dense vegetation surrounds the entire shoreline at Mazzeo Beach. The sand is very fine, and the sea is calm and crystal clear. There is also a renovated seafront promenade, so the beach and the landscaped waterfront are two distinct points of reference for finding your way around Mazzeo.

Beach areas and facilities

Free-access areas alternate with private beach clubs along the beach. These include Lido Tropicana and Lido Copacabana. The availability of individual lidos may change; check before your visit if you have a specific facility in mind.

Renovated seafront promenade

A redevelopment project created a new seafront promenade in Mazzeo, intended to enhance the entire coastal area. Inaugurated in 2025, the renovated promenade includes a pedestrian walkway. Its features include new paving, modern railings, energy-efficient lighting, green spaces, and new shelters. The pedestrian walkway is part of the promenade; the other elements describe its design. This makes it easier to distinguish the beach features from the landscaped waterfront when finding your way around.

Events in Mazzeo

On July 25, 2026, Mazzeo hosted the third edition of the event “Bandiera Blu al mare in sicurezza” (Blue Flag: Safe at Sea), held for World Drowning Prevention Day. The event was open to everyone and combined informational activities, practical demonstrations, and performances. As its third edition, it was part of an established series of events.

The Festa del Mare took place in Mazzeo on May 1, 2025, and was scheduled for May 1, 2026. At the closing of the 2025 Festa del Mare, there were games for children on the beach. For May 1, 2026, Festa del Mare – Rinascita Blu had planned a public event on the beach featuring a vertical balloon flight.

The Parrocchia Santa Maria Goretti parish church is located on Via Appiano in Mazzeo. If you are planning to attend a service, check the times separately. A parking area was also established on Via Appiano, and traffic was reorganized. As traffic regulations may change, check local conditions before setting out.
