Möschwitz between the White Elster and Pöhl Dam
Accommodation in Möschwitz
Möschwitz lies between the White Elster to the west and Pöhl Dam to the east. The points of reference differ, however. A cycle path leads to Möschwitz and continues into the Elster Valley; the Lochbauernhof is located not far from the village. The golf course lies between Möschwitz and Voigtsgrün. You can therefore consider which of these attractions are especially important for your stay.
Leisure attractions at Pöhl Dam
The golf course of Golfclub Talsperre Pöhl is located directly beside Pöhl Dam, between the Vogtland villages of Voigtsgrün and Möschwitz. For golf enthusiasts, its location between the two villages is the precise point of reference. The high ropes course at Pöhl Dam features the oak, larch, birch and maple courses, with a total of 80 elements. The two attractions can be distinguished by different features: the golf course by its location, and the high ropes course by its four courses and total number of elements. If you include either of these in your travel plans, keep its location and relevant details in mind.
Cycle route and Lochbauernhof
A cycle path running alongside the road leads from the Gunzenberg campsite to Möschwitz. There, the route turns into the Elster Valley and shortly afterwards reaches the Lochbauernhof and the Elster Cycle Path. This sequence is useful for finding your way on the ride: first the path to Möschwitz, then the turn into the Elster Valley, followed shortly by the attractions mentioned. Route conditions may change, so check the route before setting out.
The Lochbauernhof is located in the Elster Valley, not far from Möschwitz. Built in 1648 in the Franconian architectural style, the three-sided farmstead has been a listed monument since 1937. A three-sided farmstead is a farm complex whose buildings enclose three sides of a courtyard; “Franconian architectural style” is a separate stylistic classification. The dates also serve different purposes: 1648 is the year it was built, while 1937 marks the start of its protected status. If you are interested in the farmstead as a historic attraction, you can consider its layout, architectural style and protected status separately.
Visitor information and orientation
There are two visitor information points in Möschwitz. The reception of the Gunzenberg campsite, which also houses the tourist information office, is at Hauptstraße 38; another tourist information office is at the boat landing at Hauptstraße 48. For orientation, you can use their different points of reference: one is associated with the campsite reception, while the other is at the boat landing.
Möschwitz car park is the nearest car park to the Pöhl high ropes course. As parking regulations may change, check the information before your visit. Pöhl Dam also has the Möschwitz sunbathing lawn, which includes a dog bathing area. If you are travelling with a dog, you can take this specific leisure option into account when planning.
