Reinshagen: Village History and the Satower Land Cycling Route
Accommodation in Reinshagen
With a restaurant and guesthouse, the Gasthof & Pension “Zur Deutschen Eiche” in Reinshagen is a popular destination in the region. The establishment offers meals and accommodation. The “Zur Deutschen Eiche” restaurant has been an integral part of village life since 1926. Together, the restaurant’s history and the guesthouse offer provide a concrete point of reference when planning your stay in Reinshagen.
Historic Buildings in Reinshagen
A listed farm at Dorfstraße 15 comprises a farmhouse, a barn, a livestock building and a pigsty. The Rostock district’s list of listed buildings, dated 14 May 2024, includes the farm with these four building sections. The names distinguish the farmhouse from the barn and livestock buildings, giving an impression of the farm’s multi-part layout.
Two manor houses in Reinshagen also offer points of reference for the area’s architectural history. The manor house on the first farm is presumably a half-timbered building from the 18th century. The manor house on the second farm was also built in the 18th century. The distinction between the two statements is important: the classification of the first house as a half-timbered building is explicitly a supposition, while the construction of the second in that century is stated as fact.
Cycling Through Reinshagen
The “Satower Land” cycling tour approaches Reinshagen from the direction of Satow. Through Reinshagen, the route follows Dorfstraße and continues towards Retschow. This identifies both the approach from Satow and the onward route through the village. If you plan to use this route for your ride, check the route conditions before setting out.
