Lüblow: Local Heritage Room, Church and Harvest Festival
Accommodation in Lüblow
Lüblow offers several distinct points of interest to help you plan your trip: a local heritage room with an extensive collection, a small half-timbered church, recurring village festivals and the Raseneisenstein Towns Tour. These themes offer different highlights—culture and architectural style on the one hand, annual events and a 53-kilometre tour on the other. You can therefore choose your destination based on whether a particular festival, the local heritage room or the church is the deciding factor for your stay.
Local Heritage Room and Village History
The Lüblow local heritage room offers a cultural highlight of its own. In 2026, more than 2,500 items are on display there, and the collection may continue to grow. The collection includes tools, kitchen utensils and furnishings, as well as numerous items relating to the “Wanderlust” Lüblow sports club. This brings together objects from crafts, household life and home furnishings alongside items connected with the club. The mix presents different aspects of local everyday life in a single collection. Traditionally, the local heritage room opens on 1 May for the raising of the maypole and again for the harvest festival in September. If you include the local heritage room in your travel plans, check locally whether these events are taking place in your year of travel and what the opening hours are.
Church and Seasonal Village Scenery
Lüblow Church is a small, towerless half-timbered church on a hill. During the spring months, it is framed by a lushly blooming lilac hedge. The hedge adds a seasonal accent; the half-timbered construction, lack of a tower and location define the building regardless of the flowering season. The bell has been returned to its original place above the main entrance. A painting in oils entitled “Christ on the Cross with Mary and John” is displayed on the Neo-Gothic altar.
Harvest Festival and Events Throughout the Year
The annual harvest festival has several distinct elements, including a sports festival, a traditional harvest dance and a harvest procession with decorated tractors, trailers and bicycles. The festival also includes the making of the harvest crown and the setting up of straw figures. It therefore encompasses both a procession and a dance, as well as specific harvest customs. In addition, the “Wir für Lüblow e.V.” association organizes an annual carnival, a children’s festival and a Christmas market. While the harvest festival focuses on harvest traditions and the festive procession, the other events bring different highlights to the calendar. If you are travelling for a festival, check the local dates in advance.
Raseneisenstein Towns Tour and Getting There
The Raseneisenstein Towns Tour is 53 kilometres long in total and passes through Lüblow. This is the length of the entire tour; Lüblow is one of the places along its route. There is an information board for the tour in the village, and the Büdnereien on Bäckerstraße are among the route’s sights.
Trains depart hourly from Lüblow station in the direction of Schwerin or Ludwigslust. The hourly service and the two destinations provide a first point of reference; check the current timetable before travelling for specific departure times. If you want to combine your trip with a festival, coordinate the event date and train connection.
