Half-Timbered Houses and Inscriptions
Derental is known for its beautiful half-timbered houses with unique inscriptions. Alongside wildlife watching and outdoor activities, architecture offers another perspective. The inscriptions add a distinctive touch to the half-timbered architecture and give you a specific detail to look out for.
Wildlife Watching on the Outskirts
On the outskirts of Derental, in the Steimketal valley, you can observe aurochs in their natural habitat. Exmoor ponies can also be watched in their natural habitat on the outskirts of Mosel. The two species can be seen in different locations. To help plan your visit, note the locations: Steimketal for aurochs, Mosel for Exmoor ponies. This makes it easier to plan your wildlife-watching interests for your trip.

This offers several ways to get outdoors: hiking and cycling on the trails, as well as mountain biking. When planning your trip around your preferred activities, you can decide how much emphasis to place on each one.
Panoramic Views in Clear Weather
In clear weather, Derental offers panoramic views of the Weser Valley. This outlook adds a landscape perspective to the wildlife watching and trails. Clear weather is the stated condition for the panoramic views.

The Grünenplan Glass Museum in Delligsen-Grünenplan traces the development of the glassworks from its founding in 1744 to modern production at Deutsche Spezialglas AG. Using tools, glass products and photographs, it explains the production processes. The former everyday lives of glassblowers and glassworks workers are also among its topics: visitors learn how glassblowers lived and where they lived, as well as the unusual role canaries played in Grünenplan.
