Bürstadt combines architectural and local history with geological themes and leisure activities. For planning your trip, the trails offer a concrete comparison: the “Historic Trail” is approximately one kilometer long, while the footpath in the Geological Garden is about 250 meters. The local history museum and the play and sports facilities complement these highlights. If you are looking for a hotel in Bürstadt, you can arrange the destinations according to what interests you during your stay.

Historic Sights in Bürstadt

The “Historic Trail” is a flat circular route with eight informative stops. The first stop is the historic town hall, built in 1608. Displays in the town hall feature archaeological finds from Bürstadt, Bobstadt and Riedrode; the selection may change.

The trail also leads to Bürstadt’s oldest half-timbered house, built in 1733, and to the historic draw well from the 18th century, which is now a natural monument. Another historic building is the Catholic Church of St. Michael: it was rededicated in 1926 after being rebuilt.

The local history museum focuses on the everyday and working lives of past generations. The exhibition may change over time. Visits are possible by prior appointment with the municipal administration.

Geological History in the Geological Garden

Along a footpath about 250 meters long, the Geological Garden presents around 500 million years of Earth’s history. Historic boundary stones and geological finds are also on display. In contrast to the trail’s stops on architectural and local history, the focus here shifts to geological traces and much longer periods of time.

Play, Sports and Leisure Activities

The alla-hopp facility is a playground where children and adults can play and explore. There are places to sit in the park next to the historic trail; the facility also has accessible toilets. If these are important for your visit, check the local conditions in advance. The education and sports campus offers modern sports facilities across more than 68,000 square meters.

Cycling Through Bürstadt

The “Bergstrasse Close to Nature – Rhine Loop” cycle route runs through Bürstadt towards the Lampertheimer Altrhein. Local conditions may affect cycling, so take them into account when planning your trip.
