Storkow is a typical linear village, surrounded by farmland and woodland. Much of the existing building stock dates from the previous century. These features offer a first impression of the destination as you look for a hotel in Storkow: the village has a rural character, and Steindamm Equestrian Centre is a specific leisure option.

Linear Village and Rural Character

A linear village is a settlement pattern in which buildings are arranged along a road. In Storkow, farmland and woodland add to the character of the surrounding area. Together with the age of many buildings, this gives the village a rural character that you can take into account when choosing a destination. If a village layout is important to you, the settlement pattern and surroundings can help guide your choice. The riding facilities at Steindamm Equestrian Centre, on the other hand, are a specific option for a particular leisure interest.

Riding Activities at Steindamm Equestrian Centre

Steindamm Equestrian Centre in Storkow offers riding holidays for beginners and advanced riders, as well as an indoor riding arena, horseback rides in nature and horse boarding. The indoor arena and horseback rides are different kinds of riding activity; horse boarding concerns the accommodation of horses. If you are travelling to ride, check with the operator which of the services you want are available for your dates. The offering depends on the operator's availability.

The equestrian centre is in a rural setting with meadows, woodland and fields. A small forest lake is about 500 metres away. Access conditions in the area may change, so check them before visiting.

Templin: Historical and Cultural Highlights

In the wider destination of Templin, the medieval fieldstone wall is a prominent historic structure: it is 1,735 metres long and up to seven metres high, and the ring wall encloses the medieval town centre. You can stroll along the restored fortifications. They include three Gothic brick gates, two towers and 47 Wiekhäuser (defensive houses). Prenzlauer Gate is Templin's newest and most complete brick gate. Inside the historic gate, Templin's more than 750-year history comes to life.

The small St. George's Chapel in Templin also dates from the 14th century and was built in the Brick Gothic style. It contains a wooden sculpture from the 16th century depicting the patron saint George on horseback, in full armour and fighting the dragon. The building style and sculpture each give the chapel its own architectural and artistic focus.

The Archaeological Town Walk leads through Templin's historic old town, passing, among other places, the Market Square and Church Square, as well as the town wall. Ten information panels provide background on the respective finds. The Multicultural Centre offers a year-round programme of films, theatre, cabaret, readings, exhibitions and concerts. Guided town walks featuring facts and anecdotes about Templin are offered on Tuesdays and Saturdays; check the dates before your trip.
