Offerings at the 2024 and 2025 editions included dishes from pots and pans, as well as grilled food. There was also a traditional coffee room in a festively decorated, heated tent.
Participants and food offerings may vary from one edition to the next. If the market is a reason for your trip, check the dates and program for the specific edition.
Getting There by Train
Passow station is in the Berlin-Brandenburg Transport Association (VBB) and is served by regional rail services (SPNV). Historic Monuments and Architectural History
Passow’s historic monuments include the church at Schwedter Chaussee 47, the station at Am Bahnhof 1, a central-corridor house at Schwedter Chaussee 19, and a residential-and-farmhouse at Wendemarker Lindenallee 8. Passow station building is a listed historic monument. The buildings represent different architectural functions: the church and station complement the two houses, whose names already indicate their respective uses. The listed buildings therefore extend beyond religious and transport structures to include residential and agricultural buildings.
Village Church and Passow Castle
Passow Village Church has a late-Gothic carved altarpiece, which was fully restored between 1991 and 2019. The organ, in its present form, was made by Friedrich Wilhelm Kaltschmidt of Stettin; its specification goes back to the organ builder Joachim Wagner. Thus, the organ’s present form and its specification are attributed to two different sources, while the altarpiece, with its restoration, offers a distinct art-historical perspective.
Passow Castle was part of the fortifications along the Welse line, which formed the border between Brandenburg and Pomerania here. The castle adds a historical border and fortification perspective to the history of the church and buildings: while the altarpiece and organ are part of the village church’s furnishings, the castle served an earlier military function. In the wider destination of Schwedt/Oder, Lower Oder Valley National Park and its species-rich floodplain landscape offer a nature experience.
