Discover Boitzenburger Land
Accommodation in Boitzenburger Land
For a stay in Boitzenburger Land, cultural experiences and outdoor activities are practical planning considerations side by side. Boitzenburg Castle, with its Lenné Park and guided tours, is a cultural highlight; there is also the Spur der Steine cycling route and waterways considered suitable for canoeing. You can plan your stay around whichever theme interests you most.
Towns and Boitzenburg Castle
Boitzenburger Land includes the towns of Berkholz, Boitzenburg, Buchenhain, Funkenhagen, Hardenbeck, HaĂźleben, Jakobshagen, Klaushagen, Warthe and Wichmannsdorf. The administrative assignment of these towns may change.
Boitzenburg Castle is a Renaissance castle surrounded by Lenné Park. The Kleiner-Boitzenburger-Route leads to the von Arnim family mausoleum and the Apollo Temple; from the route, the view extends towards Boitzenburg Castle. Visitors interested in historic buildings and parks will find several points of interest here: the Renaissance castle, the park and the stops along the route.
Public and private guided tours are offered at the castle. As availability may vary, check which dates are currently available before your visit.
The Marstall Boitzenburg offers a show bakery, a coffee roastery, an ice cream maker and a brewery with a restaurant. This combination brings together several culinary themes in one place. As offerings may change, check in advance what is currently available.
Cycling and canoeing
The 51-kilometre-long Spur der Steine runs from Templin via Boitzenburg and Fürstenwerder to Warbende; the route lies in the Uckermärkische Seen Nature Park. Boitzenburg is therefore on the course of a longer route. It runs mainly along separate, paved, car-free cycle paths and lightly trafficked country roads, and is signposted throughout. Check the route and distance before setting off, as the course and kilometre count may change in the future.
The Küchenteich and the adjoining Boitzenburgergewässer near Boitzenburg Castle are considered suitable for canoeing. If you would like to include this option in your travel plans, check access and rental arrangements in advance; these may change.
The wider Uckermark region
In the wider travel destination of Uckermark, the Uckermärkische Seen Nature Park lies within a landscape rich in water and gently rolling hills. Its landscape includes many clear-water lakes, kettle holes and bogs. The nature park offers more than 150 kilometres of water trails and over 600 kilometres of signposted hiking trails. These regional options complement the specific cultural and cycling themes in Boitzenburger Land without replacing them. In the Uckermark, the Gramzow Railway Museum displays historic railway vehicles from different periods and exhibitions on track construction, workshop operations, and railway operations and transport services. On operating days, visitors can ride on historic railway vehicles and drive rail trolleys themselves.
