Raddusch is located in the Spreewald Biosphere Reserve. Different interests come together when planning your trip: trails for walking or cycling, traditional rides in wooden punts, and the history of the village. The routes differ considerably in length and estimated time.

Walking and cycling trails

The Raddusch Moor Educational Trail is 13.5 km long and can be explored by bicycle or on foot. Follow the nature reserve rules during your excursion. Its length gives you a specific point of reference if you want to include a longer route in your day’s plans.

The Dragonfly Trail starts at Raddusch Nature Harbor and is an easy art and discovery trail. The one-way route is 2.0 km, and the round trip is 4.0 km; it takes about an hour. This makes it considerably shorter than the Moor Educational Trail. The distance and duration help you choose between the two trails based on how much time you have.

Nature Harbor and wildlife observation

The developed nature punt harbor is a starting point for excursions into the Spreewald. Traditional rides in wooden punts have been popular there since 1920. The harbor was established in 1999 as a departure point for water-based excursions. It is also accessible to people with disabilities. In Raddusch, you can also rent paddle boats, usually two-seaters, and a few canoes by the hour or by the day. Check current availability before your trip.

Raddusch Dragonfly Park is right next to Raddusch Harbor. Models introduce children to the world of dragonflies, and two reclining benches provide a place to observe the insects. This brings educational displays and a place for observation together.

During the breeding and rearing season, stork cameras at two nesting sites in Raddusch provide live views into the nests, as well as information about the white stork and its habitat. The cameras are not active all year round. If you are planning to enjoy this seasonal glimpse, check in advance whether it will be available when you visit.

Village history

Slawenburg Raddusch is a reconstruction of a historic fortification. It was based on archaeological investigations carried out before lignite mining began. As of August 31, 2026, Slawenburg was closed to visitors until further notice. Check the latest information before visiting.

The Raddusch Historical Circular Trail is signposted as a loop through the village. At its stops, information panels explain the historical background to the village’s development. The circular trail thus offers a way to view the stops as part of the village’s shared history.

The Raddusch Local History Room is located in the former home of the Müller family, right by the village square and near the transformer house. The Raddusch Buschmühle is another historic landmark: it was built on oak piles in 1777 as a grain and oil mill. Together with the circular trail, these places show different aspects of local history without letting any one building define the whole picture of Raddusch.
