Oberaudorf: Disc Golf, Summer Toboggan Run and History Trail
Accommodation in Oberaudorf
Oberaudorf offers a range of day-trip options: at the Oberaudorf-Hocheck adventure mountain, disc golf and the summer toboggan run take center stage, while the Oberaudorf History Trail focuses on local history. For planning your trip, you can choose between two activities at Hocheck and a history-focused route.
Activities at the Oberaudorf-Hocheck Adventure Mountain
The disc golf course at Hocheck has nine holes: three are right next to the mountain station, and six are next to the mid-station. This means two-thirds of the holes are in the mid-station area, with the rest near the mountain station. This distribution gives you a clear point of reference between the two station areas.
The TĂśV-certified summer toboggan run at the Oberaudorf-Hocheck adventure mountain is around 1,000 meters long. It runs downhill from the mid-station to the valley station. By comparison, the nine disc golf holes are spread across two station areas. So at Hocheck, you can choose between two different types of activity: the toboggan run, with its approximate length, and the disc golf course, with its layout between the stations.
History Trail and Local History Museum
The Oberaudorf History Trail passes Luegsteinsee lake and Grafenloch Cave. Along the way, you can also explore the history of Auerburg Castle ruins. If you are interested in the ruins’ history, it is one of the subjects covered on this route.
At the end of the History Trail, there is an optional detour to the Local History Museum in the castle gatehouse. You can include a visit to the museum as an addition to the route without making it a fixed part of your plans.
The Local History Museum in the historic castle gatehouse displays exhibits and offers historical insights into geology, settlement, inland navigation, Auerburg Castle, mountain riflemen and tourism. Current exhibitions may vary. The museum is listed as open Tuesdays and Sundays from 2 to 6 p.m. from May to October; check before your visit whether these seasonal hours are currently in effect.
