Landscape and cycling trips
The transition between the two landscape regions is a distinctive feature of Zorneding. The municipality is also regarded as a starting point for cycling trips. Landscape and cycling are two separate considerations: one describes the natural environment, while the other relates to an activity. You can weigh up which matters more for your travel plans.
St. Martin's Church: building history and art
The history of St. Martin's parish church spans several periods. Its dilapidated predecessor was replaced by a Baroque church built between 1719 and 1721. St. Martin's also houses a restored Gothic Madonna dating from the late 15th century. A complete relic of the Roman catacomb saint Placidus, sealed into the wall behind glass, was brought from Rome to Zorneding in 1982. The timeline thus extends from the Madonna to the Baroque church and then to the relic's transfer in the 20th century.

A separate look at the wider destination of Ebersberg
In the wider destination of Ebersberg, the observation tower in the Ebersberg Forest is a highlight in its own right. Climbing its 169 steps rewards visitors with views across the entire foothills of the Alps, from the Berchtesgaden Alps to the Allgäu. On exceptionally clear days, distant peaks over 3,000 metres high can also be seen. Also in Ebersberg, right next to the Ebersberg Forest, is the Museum Wald und Umwelt, which has been there since 2004. It focuses on the history of forest use and forest ecology. The views and the forest-related topics offer different points of interest there.
