Eging a.See: Trails, Water and Cycling

A range of activities is available around Lake Eging during a stay in Eging a.See: hiking on themed and circular trails, swimming, water sports and cycling. The options differ in route length and conditions. It is therefore helpful to decide on your main focus first when planning your trip: Would you like to follow a circular route with stops, spend time by the water or include a cycling route? Swimming depends on the season and weather; check the current operating status of the boat and SUP rental service before your visit.

Hiking around Lake Eging

The “Spurensuche” themed hiking trail is a 3.5-kilometer circular route with 20 informative stops. It runs through species-rich mixed woodland on forest and field paths, and partly along the lakeside promenade. The stops give the route its own thematic focus; at the same time, the trail alternates between woodland, fields and the lakeshore. “Spurensuche” is therefore a clearly defined way to combine a route with informative stops.

Two hiking trails run directly around Lake Eging and offer views of the adjacent Bavarian Forest. A second hiking route around the lake is listed as approximately 8.5 kilometers long. There are ten hiking trails in and around Eging in total, ranging from just under 3 to over 18 kilometers, for beginners and experienced hikers. This lets you choose between circular routes by the lake and a wider network of trails with different lengths.

Swimming areas and rentals at the lake

Lake Eging has a long sandy beach, a bathing jetty, a swimming island and a sunbathing lawn. Beach volleyball is also available. If you are planning to spend time by the water, bear in mind that swimming depends on the season and weather.

For younger children, the lake has a heated granite water play area with three paddling and activity pools at different levels. Water slides connect the pools. This facility offers a distinct focus within the local water-based activities. Pedal boats and stand-up paddleboards can also be rented at Lake Eging; check local operating information for the rental service before your visit.

Cycling route and activities in the spa park

The Danube-Ilz Cycle Path is around 45 kilometers long and runs directly through Eging a.See along a former railway line. If you are including cycling in your trip plans, you can consider this route as a separate focus alongside the hiking trails and lake activities. Check current trail conditions before setting off.

The fitalPARC is located in Eging Spa Park. Its slightly elevated path has six platforms with strength-training equipment, connected by five long coordination sections. The layout combines strength and coordination elements in one facility, making it different from the route options for hiking and cycling. Eging a.See therefore offers a variety of ways to stay active outdoors—from a themed circular route and trails of different lengths to a cycling route and the fitalPARC.
