For a much shorter route, try the 2.6-kilometre Promenade Tour in northern Herrsching. It is classified as very easy and follows the shore of Lake Ammersee to the Herrschinger Kreuz. Another lakeside route is Route 11, the “Ammersee Tour”: near Herrsching, it follows the lake through the Wartaweil nature reserve. The two routes thus clearly differ in length and difficulty rating; the Ammersee Tour adds a lakeside section near Herrsching.

The King Ludwig Way passes Andechs Monastery and continues to the boat landing stage in Herrsching.
