Kaisersbach offers a wide variety of places to visit: Ebnisee Lake with its seasonal recreational activities, protected gorges, mills with a long history and activities for families. Hiking trails through the Swabian Forest and cycling routes add to the selection. You can tailor your stay to the things that interest you most.

Ebnisee Lake: Swimming, Boating and Forest

With a water surface of more than six hectares, Ebnisee Lake is the largest lake in the Swabian Forest. It was created in the 18th century for timber rafting in the Welzheimer Forest. Today, the lake is used for swimming. In summer, pedal boats and rowing boats are also available.

Outside the swimming season, the landscape invites you to take a longer hike around the lake and through the surrounding forest. This means the focus varies with the season: in summer, time by the water and boating activities; outside the swimming season, a longer hike through the landscape.

Gorges and Trails Through the Swabian Forest

The Hägelesklinge and Brunnenklinge gorges lie between the Kaisersbach districts of Ebersberg and Täle. Both have been nature reserves since 1969. The gorges offer a different kind of landscape for an outing than a stay by the lake. Hiking trails through the Swabian Forest and cycling routes are also among the options in Kaisersbach; you can choose specific routes to suit your own plans.

Mills and the History of Technology

Menzlesmühle is located in the east of the municipality on the Mill Hiking Trail. The watermill dates back to the 14th century and has an overshot waterwheel. Ebersberger Mühle, in the Täle valley of the Blinde Rot, also dates back to the 14th century. Since the 1920s, it has been powered by a turbine. The two mills therefore offer different ways to explore the history of milling: a waterwheel at one, a turbine drive at the other.

Amusement Park and Annual Event at Ebnisee Lake

Schwaben Park in Kaisersbach is a family amusement park with more than 60 attractions. Another activity for people with and without disabilities is “Ebnisee for All”: the Ebnisee Association organizes it annually on three dates in collaboration with the Swabian-Franconian Forest Nature Park. The program includes activities and workshops. If you are planning to attend, check the latest event dates.

The route ran from Murrhardt via Waldsee, Kirchenkirnberg and Kaisersbach to Welzheim and back. Check the latest transport information before travelling.
