The Margarethen Chapel dates back to the 13th century and remains Muggensturm’s most historically significant building. The old town center is home to beautifully preserved half-timbered buildings. Together, the chapel and the timber-framed houses offer two distinct starting points for a walk exploring the town’s architectural history.

Municipal Forest, Nature Reserve and Cycle Routes
Muggensturm’s 323-hectare municipal forest is a place to enjoy running, walking, horse riding, hiking and cycling. It offers almost the full variety of regional forest communities. This means the forest isn’t limited to a single activity, but is used for different kinds of exercise.
The “Federbachbruch” nature reserve between Muggensturm and Malsch is a separate area. It was designated in 1982 and is of exceptional importance. The forest is a place for recreation and a showcase of forest diversity, while Federbachbruch offers a distinct natural landscape as a protected area.
Various routes in and around Muggensturm invite you to explore the region on foot or by bike. For a more specific cycling option, the approximately 40-kilometer MĂ–BS circular cycle route passes through Muggensturm, Ă–tigheim, Bietigheim and Steinmauern. It runs mostly along flat stretches and is also suitable for families with children. The route takes in forests and meadows, streams and lakes. This gives you the choice between different routes around Muggensturm and a named circular tour through four municipalities.
