Tanneron: Mimosa, ridges and Lac de Saint-Cassien
Accommodation in Tanneron
Tanneron offers a range of ways to incorporate scenery and activities into your stay: mimosa plantations, ridges overlooking the Estérel Massif and Lac de Saint-Cassien.
Mimosa and viewpoints
The Balade au cœur des Mimosa trail passes through mimosa plantations in the Tanneron area. Visitors can walk it independently at any time; the tour takes an average of 90 minutes. This makes it easy to fit the walk into your day on your own schedule.
The Les Crêtes de Tanneron hike offers a different perspective. It takes you to ridges with panoramic views of the Estérel Massif, including Pic de l'Ours and Mont Vinaigre. While the Balade passes through mimosa plantations in the Tanneron area, the Crêtes focus on the high ground and its views.
The two hikes therefore offer different highlights: mimosa plantations shape the route of the Balade, while the Crêtes turn your attention to the Estérel Massif. If you are choosing between the routes, this distinction can help guide your decision.
Lac de Saint-Cassien
Lac de Saint-Cassien covers 420 hectares and extends across the communes of Tanneron, Montauroux, Callian and Les Adrets de l’Estérel. The lake spans four communes, including Tanneron.
Activities on Lac de Saint-Cassien include pedal boating, canoeing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and sailing. There are also adventure games and inflatable attractions. If a particular activity is a deciding factor for your stay, it is a good idea to check its availability before you travel.
Visits and culture
At the family-run farm in Cague-Denier, Tanneron, FranceEucaMimosa offers 4x4 rides with breakfast. Visitors get to know the farm and the mimosa-covered hills around it. They see how the farm operates and learn more about the work of a producer. Afterwards, they take home a bouquet. The rides are offered as a bookable experience.
The Balade and the 4x4 ride differ in format: the hike is individual and self-guided, while the ride includes breakfast, insights into the farm's work and a bouquet. This lets you choose between an independent walk and a bookable experience at a family-run farm.
The Circuit vélo No. 4 cycle route runs along the north shore of Lac de Saint-Cassien towards the banks of the Siagne, the 12th-century Chapelle de Saint-Cassien-des-Bois and its restored mill. The mill was restored by youth work camps. The chapel was used for trade and for pilgrimages to Santiago de Compostela.
