Discover Saint-Cezaire-Sur-Siagne
Accommodation in Saint-Cezaire-Sur-Siagne
Saint-Cezaire-Sur-Siagne can be explored through several distinct highlights: a viewpoint overlooking the Gorges de la Siagne, a circular hiking trail, historic buildings, a cave and a farm experience day. These destinations appeal to different interests. When planning your stay, you can consider the landscape, architecture, geological history and practical activities separately. This makes it easier to choose the focus that best suits your trip.
Gorge, viewpoint and circular trail
Place du Point de Vue overlooks the Gorges de la Siagne. The Circuit des Tuves offers another way to experience the landscape: it is a circular hiking trail that starts in Saint-Cézaire-sur-Siagne and measures around 8.1 kilometres.
Its route passes through the Gorges de la Siagne, among rural remains and old passageways. For planning purposes, it is useful to distinguish between the two: Place du Point de Vue is defined by its view of the gorge, while the circular trail is defined by a specific distance and its route through the terrain.
Chapel, well and bridge
The present-day building of Notre-Dame de Sardaigne was reconstructed in the first half of the 13th century. The chapel has features of Romanesque architecture. Thus, the building combines a date for its reconstruction with an architectural classification; each describes a different aspect of its history.
The Puits de la Vierge is a group of nine wells, built from the 15th century onwards and given this name in 1865. The construction period and the naming mark different points in time: the group began to take shape in the 15th century, while its name is associated with a specific later year. If you are planning a visit, please check public access arrangements in advance.
The Pont des Gabres, also known as the Pont des Tuves, was built in 1802. It crosses the Siagne and connects Saint-Cézaire-sur-Siagne in the Alpes-Maritimes department with Montauroux in the Var department. Both names refer to the same bridge; its geographical setting encompasses the river and the connection between the two departments.
Cave and farm experience day
The Grotte de Saint-Cézaire invites visitors to explore an underground world shaped by nature over millions of years. Stalactite and stalagmite formations, draperies and striking colours define the scenery. The focus is on geological formations and their vivid appearance—a different perspective from that of the buildings and the group of wells.
On the experience day at Chèvrerie du Bois d’Amon, you can milk goats, taste warm milk and feed animals such as goats, ponies and donkeys. Reservations are required to take part. The experience also includes cheese-making and the opportunity to take the cheeses you have made home with you. This farm day, with its hands-on activities, differs from a visit to the cave: here, participation and a food product you have made yourself take centre stage.
