Le Tignet offers several possibilities for a stay: the Siagne, a walk along its left bank and a viewpoint with views stretching to Grasse, historical landmarks, regional products and annual events. You can focus on the landscape, architectural history, beekeeping or the date of an event.

The Siagne, a walk and a viewpoint

The Siagne separates Le Tignet from the Var department. The “Balade dans le Val de Siagne” (Walk in the Siagne Valley) follows the river’s left bank along the former rural road from Saint-Cassien. Conditions by the river can affect the route, so check them before setting out. For a different view, visit the Placette du vieux village: from there, the panorama stretches from Lac de Saint-Cassien to Grasse. These offer two distinct landscape perspectives: the route along the riverbank and the panorama from the viewpoint.

Historical traces and architecture

Le Castellaras is a medieval castle ruin above the road to Saint-Cézaire, on the municipal boundary. Access to the ruin may be restricted locally. In the San-Peyre area, traces of a castle and a place of worship can still be seen. The historical remains differ in form: Le Castellaras is classified as a castle ruin, while traces of both structures are visible in San-Peyre.

Villa Le Pas de Pique is a more recent architectural landmark. Architect Marcel Lods built it for his own use in 1961–1962; it is considered one of the key examples of industrial metal architecture. The historical range thus extends from medieval traces to a building from the early 1960s.

The villa is protected as a historic monument in its entirety. The protected area includes the house, the access bridge and cadastral parcel A 3469. It was listed by decree dated September 11, 2006.

Honey and tastings on site

Jean-Louis Lautard Apiculteur in Le Tignet offers tastings and direct sales on site. As visitor access arrangements may change, check in advance whether visitors can be received on your preferred date. The honeys range from single-flower varieties to honeys from characteristic habitats such as maquis, garrigue, the foothills of the Alps, mountains and forests. The products can therefore be distinguished both by honey variety and by the habitat from which they come.

Annual events

The Forum des Associations has been held every September in Le Tignet since 2014; its varied stalls are open to the public. The annual Christmas market, “Marché de Noël – Le Tignet,” takes place in and around the Salle des fêtes. Nearly 40 stalls offer gift ideas and food and drink. The market also features free entertainment, games and opportunities to meet Père Noël.

The events have different focuses: the Forum is defined by its September date and public stalls, while the Christmas market features gift ideas, food and entertainment. Dates and programmes may change; the number of stalls at the Christmas market may also vary. If you would like to plan your trip around one of these events, check the dates for the relevant edition in advance.
