Triel-Sur-Seine can be explored through a range of cultural highlights: astronomy, Romanesque art, historic buildings, walks and theatre. When planning your stay, it helps to decide on the purpose of your visit before arranging individual activities. A visit to the Parc aux Étoiles involves a different programme from the historic trail or an evening at the theatre. This way, you can decide which of these themes you would like to shape your stay, without conflating their distinct offerings.

Astronomy at the Parc aux Étoiles

The Parc aux Étoiles is located on the heights of Triel-Sur-Seine, in the grounds of the Château de la Tour. This centre for scientific, technical and industrial culture focuses mainly on astronomy. Its programme includes exhibitions, educational workshops, observation evenings and talks, as well as activities for school groups. The observation evenings provide a distinct focus alongside the exhibitions and talks: you can plan your visit according to whether you are more interested in observational astronomy or in a broader introduction to astronomy. As the programme may change, check the specific events before your visit.

To reach the Parc aux Étoiles, take Transilien line J to Triel-Sur-Seine station, then bus line 25 from the station. The travel information was updated on 1 June 2026; check connections before setting out.

Architecture and traces of history

The choir of the Église Saint-Martin extends over Rue Galande. This architectural detail makes the spatial relationship between the church and the street visible. The Chapelle Sainte-Anne also reflects local history: it is the only surviving remnant of the hospital buildings that stood on this site in succession. Its Romanesque capitals are an exceptionally rare example of Romanesque art in Île-de-France. The road bridge, Pont suspendu de Triel, also has a clearly dated history: it was inaugurated and opened to traffic in 1956. Alongside the church and chapel, the bridge offers another historical perspective.

Walks and theatre

The Parcours historique is an approximately two-hour walk to discover the heritage of Triel-Sur-Seine. Its approximate duration makes it easy to include as a separate activity in your day’s plans. For theatre, the programme is what matters: the local theatre troupe Comédiens de la Tour regularly performs plays at the municipal Théâtre Octave Mirbeau. Check current performances before your visit, as the programme may change.

The Seine riverbanks and annual events

The Parc Senet, a popular spot with walkers and families, lies on the banks of the Seine. Unlike the church, chapel and bridge, the focus here is a park by the river. The large Fête du Flan flea market takes place annually. The 47th edition was scheduled for 26 and 27 September 2026 on the quays of the Seine; dates and arrangements may change. If you are planning a future trip, check the dates and arrangements for that year’s event.
