The town museum, historic buildings and trails with different features offer several ways to explore the area. Depending on the route, the focus may be on distance, elevation gain, the route itself or the views.

Town Museum and Architectural History

The Nemšová Town Museum is accessible to wheelchair users, and admission is free. Its exhibitions cover archaeology, history, folk culture, glassmaking and military history. The topics therefore range from archaeology and history to folk culture, glassmaking and military history. If you are looking for a cultural focus for your stay, you will find several different subjects here.

The manor house in Kľúčové was originally built in the 17th century as a Late Renaissance building and was redesigned in the Neoclassical style at the beginning of the 19th century. This building therefore reflects two distinct periods of design: its original Late Renaissance structure and its later Neoclassical redesign.

The Church of St. Michael the Archangel also has distinct periods in its construction and furnishings. The Late Baroque church was built between 1762 and 1766; its Baroque high altar dates from the first half of the 18th century. The church stands on the original site of a religious building mentioned as early as 1332. The Králikov Mill in Nemšová adds another historical landmark: it is one of the oldest technical monuments in the region and has a 200-year history.

Hiking Trails, Views and Cycling

The educational hiking trail leads from the Ľuborča district of Nemšová through the Ľuborčianska Valley to Trenčianska Závada. It lies within the White Carpathians Protected Landscape Area. The named locations and the course through the valley provide clear directions for this trail.

A 8.5 km circular trail in Nemšová has an elevation gain of 137 m. It can be walked in either direction and is accessible to pedestrians year-round; information boards are located along the trail. When planning, note the difference between this description of the circular trail and the route through the Ľuborčianska Valley: here, the distance and elevation gain are given, while the other route is described as running from Ľuborča to Trenčianska Závada.

The Malý jelenec observation tower is in the Trenčianska Závada district of Nemšová. It can be reached on foot from Gazdovstvo Uhliská in about 20 minutes. The tower is 24.6 m high and accessible to pedestrians year-round. From there, you can see the White Carpathians, the Strážov Mountains, Považský Inovec and the rocks of Vršatec; in good visibility, Martinské hole can also be seen. Its height and views give this destination a different focus from the information about the trails.

For cyclists, the 11.4 km Trenčín–Nemšová cycling route runs from Trenčín Castle via the pilgrimage site of Skalka nad Váhom to Nemšová. It is part of the Vážska cyklomagistrála. The named stops and endpoints make the route easy to follow.

Trenčianska Závada is also home to an extensive site suited to spending leisure time outdoors with animals, and it serves home-style food. This place offers a different focus from the cultural sites and trails: the emphasis is on spending time outdoors with animals and the food on offer.
