Beckov Castle stands on a limestone rock and offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Visitors can reach the castle only on foot; motor vehicles are not permitted to enter. The walk from the village square to the ticket office takes about five minutes. If you are arriving by car, check the applicable parking regulations separately.

Beckov Castle and its history

Beckov Castle was declared a national cultural monument in 1970. Events and interactive features complement the castle visit. This combines the castle’s historical significance with other elements of the visitor experience. For a stay focused on cultural history, Beckov is therefore shaped by more than just the castle complex.

Museum and St. Stephen’s Church

The Beckov Museum is housed in a Renaissance manor house belonging to the Ambrovec family, dating from the mid-17th century. The museum courtyard features a permanent exhibition of old carriages and agricultural machinery. The museum thus combines architectural history with specific topics related to transport and agriculture. If you are looking for another cultural and historical topic beyond the castle visit, you can consider the manor house and its courtyard exhibition as a separate focus in Beckov.

The Catholic Church of St. Stephen in Beckov is also a Gothic cultural monument dating from 1424. Its Gothic classification differs from the Renaissance style of the museum building and offers another architectural-historical point of reference. The dates mark different points of reference: 1424 applies to St. Stephen’s Church, the mid-17th century to the manor house, and 1970 to the castle’s designation as a national cultural monument.

Nature trail and landscape

The Historia na dlani nature trail is a self-guided walking and cycling route that can be used in both summer and winter and is accessible year-round. Its 13 information panels present the history of Beckov. The trail thus combines independent exploration with a historical theme. For visitors who prefer to explore local history along a route, it offers a different focus from the museum, church or castle.

Beckovské Skalice is located within the cadastral area of the municipality of Beckov, in the Nové Mesto nad Váhom District in the Trenčín Region. It was designated in 2003 and covers an area of 29.5 hectares, with no protective buffer zone.
