Dolné Naštice can be explored through several specific points of reference: the Bebrava, a gentle hillside setting, local memorials, and road and rail connections. The following sections distinguish between the location of the village and information about the municipality as a whole, and put its cultural and transport connections into context. This lets you choose the focus that matters to you when planning your trip.

Elevation and River Landscape

The village lies on a gentle slope at an elevation of 205 m. Across the municipality as a whole, the elevation ranges from 187 to 275 m. These figures refer to different scales: 205 m describes Dolné Naštice itself, while the range describes the municipality overall. The Bebrava flows through the municipality for 2.4 km from north to south. Dolné Naštice lies on the river’s left-hand floodplain and on a spur of the Bánovce Nitra loess hills. Elevation, the course of the river, and the geomorphological setting are therefore separate points of reference for understanding the geography.

Memorials and Sacred Architecture

In front of the church, a memorial to those who fell in the First World War commemorates 16 residents of Dolné Naštice who died in the war. The number provides a specific link to the village’s history: the memorial honors residents who lost their lives.

Another historical point of reference is the Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes, which stands at a road junction toward Biskupice. It is a single-nave, pseudo-Romanesque building dating from the second half of the 19th century. Its features include a semicircular apse and a small built-in tower. “Single-nave” describes a layout with one nave; the semicircular apse is another architectural detail. The chapel can thus be understood in terms of both its period and its architecture.

A wooden cross by the Bebrava has also been preserved to this day. The Catholic choir of Dolné Naštice is another part of the village’s religious life: it sings at Holy Mass in Dolné Naštice.

Getting There by Road and Rail

By road, Dolné Naštice is connected to the I/50 between Trenčín, Bánovce nad Bebravou and Prievidza. A second-class road runs through the village toward Bánovce nad Bebravou and Žabokreky nad Nitrou and connects to the I/64 between Prievidza, Topoľčany and Nitra. For route planning, it is helpful to distinguish between these two road connections: the link to the I/50 and the connection to the I/64 via the second-class road. Road conditions may change; check your route before setting off.

A railway station on the western side of Dolné Naštice has connections to Topoľčany, Trenčín and Trenčianska Teplá. If you are planning a rail journey, check the timetable for your travel date before departure. This will help you take the listed connections into account when planning your trip.
