Ľubá offers several distinct points of interest to help you plan your trip: a Folk House offering insights into village life in the past, a Baroque church and a waterside landscape with opportunities for fishing. The local winemaking tradition adds a regional cultural aspect to these features. If you are looking for a hotel, these different themes can help you decide whether Ľubá suits your travel interests. The differences are useful when making your decision: village history, sacred architecture, fishing and regional festival culture offer different reasons to consider Ľubá.

Folk House and Village History

The Folk House in Ľubá recreates typical rooms, a kitchen and the village’s former way of life. Bringing the rooms and kitchen together puts everyday life at the center and gives the subject of village history a concrete setting. According to the visitor information updated by the municipality on August 14, 2026, admission is free; arrange your visit in advance by telephone with the municipality. The house also has an open-air stage in its courtyard. Unlike the church, this place focuses on domestic life; together, the two sites offer different ways to explore local cultural heritage.

Church of St. John the Baptist

The Roman Catholic Church of St. John the Baptist is Ľubá’s most prominent landmark and a sacred monument. It was built in the 18th century in the Baroque style. Its interior has a single nave and ends in a presbytery with a polygonal apse. “Single nave” describes a church interior with one main nave; “polygonal” describes the presbytery’s many-sided end. The high altar includes a painting of St. John the Baptist by K. Jakobey, dating from 1882. The altarpiece is therefore dated significantly later than the church’s construction in the 18th century; the two dates refer to different parts of the church.

Hills, Water and Fishing

Ľubá lies among the Bélai Hills, the southernmost spur of the Garamment Hills. A system of four small water reservoirs stretches northeast of the village. A reservoir was built on the Parížský potok at the boundary of Ľubá in the second half of the 20th century. The hills and waters offer different points of reference for understanding Ľubá’s landscape.

The reservoir near Ľubá is a popular fishing spot, where carp are the main catch. The reed beds along the dammed Parížský potok provide shelter for rare birds. These offer two distinct ways to explore the natural environment: fishing at the reservoir and the role of the reed beds as shelter for rare birds.

Winemaking Tradition and Regional Festivals

Ľubá’s winemaking tradition contributes to the municipality’s appeal to visitors; grape harvest festivals are still well known in the surrounding area. This combines a local cultural connection with a regional festival theme, adding a different reason to visit alongside village history, church art or fishing. If a festival is the reason for your trip, check the specific dates before planning.
