Cultural history and traces of the Stone Age

The present-day Ås kirke was consecrated on 12 July 1867. The ruins of the medieval church and the surrounding medieval churchyard are automatically protected. The past is also present along Bunnefjord: the area in Ås has a high density of Stone Age settlement finds, particularly from Pollen towards Vinterbro. Tussebohuken and Nøstvedtfunnet are about 500 metres from Vinterbrosentret. The timeline thus spans early traces of settlement, medieval remains and the present-day church from the 19th century.

NMBU, amusement park and science

The NMBU forest covers around 1,500 decares and is used as a recreational area. Koro has created a digital art trail on the NMBU campus.

TusenFryd is in Vinterbro in Ås municipality and offers more than 30 attractions for all age groups. The offering may change; check the current overview before your trip. TusenFryd includes BadeFryd, a water park with a current channel, swimming pool and paddling pool, which can be visited in summer. Its seasonal opening is important to bear in mind when planning a visit to BadeFryd.
