Přílepy lies at the wooded foothills of the Hostýnské vrchy. Several points of interest offer different ways to plan your trip: the castle park for walks and relaxation, a historic landmark ensemble with a rich architectural history, and marked trails leading into the countryside. The reservoir on the Mojena stream is also part of the town’s landscape. Depending on whether you want to focus on the park, architecture or a hike, you can choose different highlights for your stay.

Castle Park and Reservoir

The castle park is open year-round for walks and relaxation. Its layout includes walking paths, larger lawns, and coniferous and deciduous trees planted individually and in groups. The park thus combines open spaces with a variety of tree groupings. Check local access rules before your visit.

A reservoir on the Mojena stream has served recreational purposes since 2001. It is often used for swimming during the summer months. If you are planning to swim, check the conditions before your trip. The park and reservoir offer different opportunities to spend time outdoors: the park is open year-round for walks and relaxation, while swimming in the reservoir is particularly associated with the summer months.

Castle, Park and Chapel

The Přílepy historic landmark ensemble comprises the castle, the adjacent park and the more distant Chapel of Panny Marie Svatohostýnské. The castle and park adjoin one another; the chapel is a separate part of the ensemble located farther away. This distinction helps with planning if you want to visit the different architectural and landscape sites.

The ensemble includes architecturally valuable buildings from the mid-19th century in the Neo-Gothic style. Its history goes back further: in 1852, the old Přílepy fortress, dating from 1628, was demolished and a castle was built in its place. The Chapel of Panny Marie Svatohostýnské is maintained by the municipality and local residents. If you are planning to visit the interior, check its maintenance status in advance.

Hiking from Přílepy

The marked Přílepy–Hrad–Žopy route starts at the lower bus stop and climbs via the village square to the forest chapel. It continues through the forest via Křížnice and Ploština to the Hrad trail junction. The Hrad summit on this route is 560 metres above sea level; there are large rocks and a camping area there. Before setting off, check the current trail markings and ask locally about the condition of the camping area.

Another hiking option is the Přílepy–Křídlo–Hlinsko pod Hostýnem (Rusava) route. It follows the blue-marked trail for its entire length. Křídlo, a castle ruin in a beech forest, lies along the route. Unlike the route over Hrad, whose described course starts at the village square and passes a trail junction, this route is marked blue throughout. Here, too, check the current trail markings before setting off.

Cycling Route and Further Planning

The Holešov–Rusava cycling route also passes through Přílepy before returning to Holešov. This makes the town part of a described route between Holešov and Rusava; check the current signs before setting off. There is a bus connection from Rusava to Holešov. If you are including this connection in your travel plans, check the current timetable separately.
