Nedašova Lhota is located in the Bílé Karpaty Protected Landscape Area and is a border village with the Slovak Republic in the Závrší area. Several specific themes can help you plan a stay: protected juniper sites, a hiking route through the hilly landscape, and cycling routes with different itineraries. The village’s history is also tangible through dated records. You can decide whether you would like to associate Nedašova Lhota primarily with nature, outdoor activities or cultural heritage.

Landscape and Hiking

Protected juniper sites can be found in Rovnice, near Maleník, in Potůčky and in Zadky. The 23 km “Valašské pastorále” hiking trail leads through the hilly landscape around Závrší in the Nedašovka River valley. Návojná, Nedašov and Nedašova Lhota are part of this landscape area.

Choose a Cycling Route by Its Itinerary

The 28 km “Na kole po Závrší” cycling route leads to the start of Nedašova Lhota and then climbs through the village. The 35 km cross-border “Naučná cyklotrasa Hugolína Gavloviča” cycling and educational route runs from Valašské Klobouky via Nedašov and Nedašova Lhota to Pruské. The two cycling routes differ in both length and itinerary: the shorter route includes a specific stretch climbing through the village, while the longer one crosses the border and passes through several named places. You should check the route details for the cross-border route locally before setting off.

When choosing between the three routes, the activity is the first consideration: “Valašské pastorále” is the hiking trail, while the other two are cycling routes. This makes it possible to compare the routes by mode of travel and their respective described itineraries.

Border History and Cultural Heritage

The first written mention of Nedašova Lhota dates from 1503. In the land registers of the time, the settlement was listed as part of the Brumov estate and castle. The castle guarded the state border with Hungary at the time, at the Vlárský průsmyk pass. This historical border connection and the village’s present-day classification as a border village with the Slovak Republic in the Závrší area belong to different periods.

Records from Different Centuries

The cultural heritage includes bell towers of different designs and dates. Nedašova Lhota has a listed wooden log-construction bell tower dating from 1867; a brick bell tower from 1933 is also part of the preserved cultural heritage. Log construction is a building method in which beams are laid on top of one another in layers. This makes it possible to distinguish the construction of the wooden tower from that of the brick one. A small bell dating from 1775 is older than both towers and adds another cultural heritage object to the buildings.

Other preserved records include a wooden fruit-drying facility near Fojtík Jan No. 14. The fire station houses a four-wheeled manual fire engine dating from 1902. The drying facility points to fruit processing, while the hand-pumped fire engine represents firefighting technology. The cultural heritage thus includes not only bells and towers but also examples of craftsmanship and technology.
