Liptál offers a variety of ways to enjoy a stay: a marked educational trail, historic buildings and distinctive natural features. To plan your visit, you can first consider whether you would like to focus on outdoor activities, culture or nature. The specific places differ considerably in character and in what they tell you about Liptál.

Educational Trail and Nature Around Liptál

The Kobzáňův chodník is a publicly accessible, marked educational trail. It leads from the centre of Liptál via Obora towards Vartovna. One marked stop is at Liptál Château. This means you can combine the trail with a look at the historic building. The route and its stops are useful reference points when planning your day; they do not, by themselves, indicate how long the walk will take.

Another point of interest is Přírodní památka Pivovařiska in the cadastral area of Liptál. The wet meadow and sun-exposed slopes provide suitable conditions for orchids and rare wetland plants. If you are interested in plant habitats, you will find a different nature theme here than at the travertine mound in a ravine near the Obora forester’s lodge. It lies at a spring outflow and is the largest travertine mound in the Vsetín District.

The old tunnels in Liptál also have a history of their own: they are remnants of the mining of fine-grained sandstone, which was used to make whetstones. Today, the tunnels serve as a winter roost for bats, particularly the lesser horseshoe bat. The natural features here therefore range from plants and wetland habitats to travertine and bats in their winter roost. These differences can help you decide which interests to focus on during your stay.

Château, Churches and Folklore

Liptál Château was built in the centre of the village at the end of the 17th century. It is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic, but is currently closed. The remains of an early 19th-century landscape park in front of the château are a separate feature and are freely accessible. If you are interested in architectural history, the site thus offers two different points of interest, without assuming that the château itself is accessible.

The churches also offer a glimpse into Liptál’s history. The Roman Catholic Church of St Michael the Archangel dates from 1796; the Evangelical Church in Liptál dates from 1907. The two dates mark different construction periods and add further historic buildings to the picture alongside the château.

The international folklore festival Liptálské slavnosti has been held annually since 1970. The official programme for the 57th edition on 22 August 2026 listed craft days featuring woodcarvers, blacksmiths and other traditional crafts, as well as the opening of a fair. For future visits, it is worth checking the specific festival dates and programme. The 2026 programme also listed a château café serving coffee, cake, Frgály, beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks.

Cycling

There are several named facilities for cyclists in the village. A charging station for e-bikes has been in operation at the fire station since 30 July 2024. At the pump track in the sports complex, a bicycle repair stand is located at a pavilion. Alongside the local sports complex, there is a varied asphalt-surfaced pump track. These details distinguish a charging facility from a repair aid and a facility for riding the pump track.
