Accommodation in Hutisko Solanec
Hutisko-Solanec lies in the foothills of the Beskids. The natural monument, local history and seasonal leisure activities are among the different aspects that shape the town. When planning your stay, you can consider these topics separately: Poskla lies north of the town centre; the museum, monuments, cycling route, outdoor swimming pool and winter sports offer further points of interest. This will help you work out which aspects matter for your trip and what to prioritise when choosing a hotel in Hutisko Solanec.
Landscape and orientation
The “Poskla” natural monument consists of three separate areas located close to one another: Poskla I, II and III. They lie in the Vigantická pahorkatina within the Rožnovská brázda, at an altitude of 495 to 565 metres and about one kilometre north of the town centre. The areas do not form one continuous site.
The municipality extends from the valley of the Solanecký potok at 450 metres to the summit of Tanečnice at 911 metres. These altitude figures refer to different areas: one describes the elevation range within the municipality, while the other gives the location of the Poskla areas. Another point of reference is Road II/481. It crosses the municipality and runs from Prostřední Bečva via Soláň to Velké Karlovice.
Local history and tradition
The masonry church in Hutisko-Solanec was built in 1748 after the previous wooden church burned down. The Hasičské muzeum displays historical firefighting equipment from local and nearby fire brigades. This includes a fire engine from the workshop of the Pařík brothers, which has been owned by the local fire brigade since 1933 and is still operational.
The “Památník Charlotty Garrigue Masarykové” monument consists of a sandstone block with a plaque and a bust of Charlotta Masaryková on the front. Dožínky, a harvest festival, is also traditionally celebrated in Hutisko-Solanec. The town’s history thus encompasses architectural heritage and firefighting history, as well as a monument and a festival tradition.
Cycling and winter sports
There are 300 kilometres of cycling routes around Hutisko-Solanec, mostly following field and forest tracks. One specifically named route is “Na umělci políbenou Soláň”: it runs from Vigantice through Hutisko-Solanec to the Soláň ridge. The distance refers to cycling routes in the surrounding area, not just within the municipality; the named route, by contrast, describes a specific itinerary. Individual route details may be updated, so it is worth checking the route before setting out.
For winter sports, Hutisko-Solanec has four locations with ski lifts and many cross-country ski trails. The availability of facilities and trails can vary by season. Check in advance which options are available during your stay.
Outdoor swimming pool and other facilities
The “Koupaliště Hutisko-Solanec” outdoor swimming pool has a newly renovated 50-metre pool and a smaller children’s pool. The complex also includes a campsite for tents and caravans, a playground, sand tennis courts and a children’s corner. This brings swimming facilities and other leisure areas together in one place. As the facilities may change, it is advisable to check the latest information before planning a visit.
